So you mean an athlete with actual basketball skills also? We don’t have to choose one or the other? He’s the kind of player that even when shot isn’t falling can contribute in many other ways we have had too many one dimensional guys over the years but someone like this can be a complete player.

I honestly don’t know which of the centers fits best lot of good ones already there but the sdsu guy averaging 19/13 may be at the top of them. I haven’t researched the Florida state kid at all though.

The thing that made this team better than the sum of the parts was their willingness to accept a role that may not be playing 30-35 min per game. Thus, we had playing time to attract guys like Freeman from LMU or Eaglestaff, who could go to other programs and get more PT even if they may not play for a team who can compete for a championship. So, when these kids start signing, we may not get everyone we want, even if the money is there to pay them.

Yeah but Calipari spent years collecting the best athletes that didn’t fit, now the best player may not be the best fit so recruiting looks to be way more strategic and we are better for it

Fit and visionary is important

Pope investigates Oweh, no one thought Oweh could be top scoring option for this team, most thought Oweh was just defensive guy

I’m not knocking Daimon Collins at all because he was off the charts athletically but when he came in the game it felt like he had no role and very few skills. I don’t think we will see players like that anymore, everyone brought in will be for to play to strengths and not miss a beat. Collins is just 1 there could be 20 examples in his place. Even players like Grady and Fredrick were one dimensional. When I saw Brea I thought Grady but then it’s like oh wait this dude can do other things as well such a good feeling.

Would be an interesting add. Would love to add someone to be in the Liggins type role. "just go guard someone and take him out of the game" type defender, who doesn't hurt you on offense either.

Also, PLEASE NO Eaglestaff!!!
he is much better offensively than liggins was

Think these depth guys are really hard to pursue aggressively at this point in the portal for rosters like UK with holdovers yet needing a couple bonafide stud starters.

1. I'd be all of for signing this kid....9 pts a game, 48%FG, 41%3pt...but 1.4 steals and 4.8 reb....he's got some defensive chops from those numbers and efficient shooter.
2. But my question is.....he looks like a SF all the way to me...which is great. But how is the roster playing out

PG: Portal/Acaden Lewis..I hope
SG: Is Oweh moving to SG or staying as more SF...I get they are interchangeable...is Jasper a SG and depth to Oweh?
SF: Kam Williams to me is a SF (not a PF)....then is Oweh/Chandler/Noah.....that is a bit of a logjam on the wings
