The thing that really catches my attention on that is the minute distribution. Guys, we barely played Butler and Oweh! This team is going to be a joy to watch!

That's something looking ahead that will pay off. Cal relied far too heavily on investing minutes of game time to players he didn't necessarily need to give so many minutes to, but HAD TO because his teams lacked experience and proper roster construction/ depth.
Cal had to place an over reliance on his studs just to get thru some games. If he had done a better job in this particular area, our players wouldn't have been burnt out midway thru the conference schedule having to play so many minutes.
Just another reason to be very grateful we have a new coach !
The offense is so good that we weren't yelling where the heck Butler and Oweh was. Pope's got such a handle on the players that he knew we didn't really need them and wanted see what we had in other guys getting bigger minutes than they were used to. What a "problem" to have. I do wonder if Butler was sore after the hard fall he took early in the game. He hit the floor hard.
