UK Preparing to Move in on Darrin Hall Jr. Again

Rowland tweeted out that UK was preparing to make a move on a 4* back committed elsewhere, and the picture accompanying the tweet was of Darrin Hall Jr. You may remember the name from a while ago. He showed some pretty solid interest in UK before it was clear we were all in on Damien Harris and Harris alone. He eventually moved on and committed to Pitt. Assuming things go as they appear to be moving towards on Friday, UK is poised to try and make a big move to bounce back.

Prefer Harris, but Hall is really good too, so I'll take either one. I just want a kid who wants to be at UK. I also want UK to beat those who don't want to be Big Blue on the scoreboard. No reason why UK can't beat Bama.

Maybe they want Harris and Hall. I just don't understand all the negativity surrounding tomorrow's decision. I believe Harris chooses UK without a doubt. Harris has been all over UK's campus this fall and he has several friends already at UK. I'm sure Bama threw everything but the kitchen sink at him but in the end Stoops will persuade him to stay at home and be apart of what's happening at UK. Many people though Elam was going to jump ship but where did he end up? I believe if Harris wanted to go to Bama he would have chosen them at the UA game last Saturday. Tomorrow will be about Harris choosing UK and UK will use the attention to build momentum going forward with other recruits. Tomorrow will be a good day I believe.

I hope that you are correct, but if you are wrong it will be a negative for UK. UK wouldn't go after Hall if Harris was on board since UK stated that they were only going to take 1 RB.

If Darrin Harris does not come to UK, then Darrin Hall would be an excellent player as well. 4 star, ranked 22 overall back and 176 best player in country. Soft verbal to Pitt, so if needed, hope they can make up some lost ground.

Probably hard to go back and get in on a kid that you quit recruiting previously...

That's what I would think but I'd love to get him.

Hall would be the 3d Pitt recruit UK's flipped or tried to, other 2 being DT Hamilton and OT Dowdy. Can UK win SEC games with Pitt commits?

UK can definitely win with Darrin Hall. That kid is maybe the best back in OH... I actually like him better than Scott (MSU commit).

That depends. Are you talking about taking the cream off the top? Yes, and that seems to be where we are with that.

For me personally I think it should be Harris or nothing at running back. I just don't see running back as being a really important position to take in this recruiting class. We have Kemp, Williams, Horton, Heard, and technically Clemons. That is at least 4 usable and solid running backs. Kemp still has two more years, and Williams and Horton were just freshmen. So, I think we can wait one more year before needing a running back. I think I'd much rather see us try to add quality depth to the defensive line (especially end), offensive line, and linebackers. Not that I would complain with a 4 star running back, but I just don't know that we really have to have one in this class.

Don't agree with this. Clemons can't stay healthy and color me surprised if he's even on the roster next year. Kemp may transfer because he's buried on the depth chart and Heard will be a senior this year. So after this coming year, you could just have Horton and Williams and that won't cut it in the SEC.

Sorry, I should have put that in there... if the coaches believe that Kemp (or others) will transfer then they need to get someone. However, if they expect everyone to stay then we should have enough backs to get us through 2015. Obviously we would need some guys coming in for depth and talent in 2016. If we get a 2015 back then I would imagine that it would be best for it to be Harris or someone willing to redshirt. Otherwise it would be better, IMO, to get some depth elsewhere.

Cats haven't really moved in on Dowdy yet...he likes us, but its not a slam dunk we put the full court press on for him. We are going after the UCONN commit first.

^no on Dowdy, at least not yet. Not sure how this turns out because apparently UK has offered an OL named Ulizio who is a UCONN commit. Figure they'll only take one more OL so not sure they'd offer Ulizio if they thought they'd get Dowdy. Of course, they could be leveraging Dowdy by offering Ulizio.
