This is going to clearly demonstrate the problem we have regarding race in our society. Some little drunk idiot does something incredibly stupid and should absolutely pay the price, but this event will be used by all who can, to demonstrate the entire campus is racist. The president is already quoting race enrollment statistics, which has nothing to do with this.

This is where race baiters lose those who would otherwise support their cause. We can all get behind punishing this dumbass, but we all won’t agree on labeling a larger group because of it.

Aaaaannnddd, right on cue. Not a "drunk idiot" just a standard issue closet racist whose "drunkenness" brought the truth out. There are a whole whole lot of those people around. She felt quite comfortable dehumanizing those other students and the best you can do is "yeah, but...." and turn it around on the victims. Disgusting. * I doubt you even really think she should "pay the price" wink wink, right?

The term “race baiting” originated in the early 1900’s ; used by whites to decry the social progress of minorities. It was a popular refrain during the civil rights movements among whites in the south. It came back in vogue in the late 90’s.

Now it’s just a phrase people throw out there to both reinforce division and argue against it. Politicians use it to hold sway over people.

Race is an issue in this country. But people don’t want to think critically about it. They just want to either buy into the racial divides because of their position (or perceived position really) in society or listen to a bunch of performative *** white liberals paying lip service to these issues but never really doing anything about it.

There is another video floating around from last year that is allegedly the same girl where she is going on a drunken rant talking about how rich she is and talking down to someone about how poor they look. She seems like a real gem to be around.

Can we discuss the elephant in the room, aka the dude in the checkerboard overalls. It's not like they had been to a football game, since our game was away, he was just wearing those hideous things in public for no reason.

I’m of the opinion that unless you’re a farmer, Junior Samples or some sort of AG mechanic you should never wear overalls.

Not sure how he turned it around on the victim in this case? Plainly stated that she should be punished. You have proven his point by the way. Take a situation and try to bucketize groups of people into the same category as this girl. To me you are as disgusting as the girl is for trying to put words into someone's mouth as opposed to trying to understand their view.

I have absolutely no interest in understanding that view. Trust me, I get it. This guy quite clearly went the "yeah, but. . . " route and "race baiter" routes very quickly. Tells me quite a bit. His "view" should be roundly ridiculed full stop.

Some sad **** in that story. What a miserable person. I did not watch the video, but it appears the night desk person and others were professional in their approach when it would have been easy not to be. Drunk off your butt and ugly usually means a person has lived a hurt life. Hopefully, she is lead to a better understanding about others and herself.

A positive that many will not agree with is the fact that this story would not have made national news 70 years ago. Today, this is not a common experience and, so, the media nationally reports upon it.

Well I'll be damned, we agree (somewhat) on something. Except I'll say, her life probably is not one of "hurt" but "entitlement." She seemed entirely too comfortable in her behavior and usage of that word. I suspect it isn't just a "one-off."

No one should be shocked. Hell, just here we’ve had posters over the last few years convincing each other that either racism doesn’t exist or they happen to only bring up examples of black people being racist against whites, as if it’s exclusively a black issue. We’ve had posters say that whites are victimized in this country by a wide margin and that it’s the black community that’s the problem, and those posts have gotten likes from the usuals. We’ve had posters say they despise gays and posters who’ve mocked and called the trans community pedos. We’ve had posters take up for Kanye and say how much they liked Kyrie taking a stance and speaking his mind.

White, black, Mexican, Asian, whatever. We’ve got people in this country and especially online who feel more emboldened now than ever to spout their racism, make excuses for them, and be hateful towards others who are different than them.

Regarding this little racist, because of the technology she probably adores (phone and social media), this will follow her and I’m fine with that.

The girl is going to be punished, likely kicked out of school, and this will hang over her head for years, affecting her employment oppurtunities. Because of drunk, ridiculous behavior. If you don’t see that as a “ doing something” then nothing will ever suffice.

Some of the most damaged people I know grew up with wealth, but did not know love. Some had parents too busy or not concerned to be involved who just threw money at their kids, as if that is what they needed. All of that said, I don’t know this person’s story, other than to say she needs real help. If you cue on people’s calls for help, you won’t miss this one.

So how does one get help to not be a racist? Serious question.

Racism is a much bigger issue than race baiting. That girl deserves whatever bad fortune comes her way. Typical response from someone who most likely carries the same sentiments as the little racist white girl.

Good, I hope it does. But certainly not a surprise that you said this. It's not "drunk ridiculous behavior" it is "racist behavior" and her drunkenness is no excuse. Leave it to you to worry about the ramifications of the poor little darling. What about the girls who were subjected to the entitled little ****'s tirade (I guarantee it isn't the first time she's done or said things like this)? Might this hang over their heads for years? Like I said, I would've been surprised had you not come to her defense (and make no mistake, that's what you're doing). GTFOH with your "race baiting" nonsense.

I’ve been drunk off my *** in public more times than I care to admit. I practically majored in it in college. What I’ve never done is go on racist tirades and assault people. And if someone I associated with did that? Well that’s an *** kicking.

From my life experience people will end up telling you who they are eventually. No one can keep a mask up their entire lives.

No it isn’t, where is all this racism?

What part of what I wrote makes you think I don’t think she deserves to be punished? However, she said it, no one else is to blame for her words.
Race baiting is an issue, to act like it isn’t is ridiculous. It’s an issue no matter which group does it.

Really, you’ve never done something while intoxicated that you’ve regretted when you sobered up?

You should ask yourself why she felt comfortable in doing this.

I’ll say it again…nobody keeps that mask up their entire lives. People will tell on themselves eventually.

I got zero sympathy for this girl. She should have gotten her *** whipped and she’s lucky she didn’t. And in todays world there are more and more people who feel it’s okay now to do what she’s done…drunk or not.

Where did I come to her defense? My point that flew squarely over your head was that she will be punished. In the past she wouldn’t have, that is progress.

This needs to be quoted because it's truly the dumbest, most ignorant thing anyone has ever said on this board. And that's saying something. Good lord!

Because she was drunk, and she was wanting to insult the young lady.
