If you want to argue that teams don't need a special teams coach, then fine, but this isn't an ordinary team. This teams special teams (obviously among other things) needs one. We aren't your "average" football team. They suck in a bad way and the special teams is one of the absolute worse I've ever seen. So screw it, don't hire one then. You can go down in flames then under your own stupidity.
My 2 cents....Until UK opens the wallet and gets a top notch big name coach instead of buying people with NO experience/ no business being a head coach, this won't get much better. Every season will be a down to the wire season hoping for 6 wins to get into some laughable bowl. Until we get a big time coach our recruiting will always be to a "let's win six and take a ****** bowl" attitude. Nobody to blame here except Barnhart IMO..OR they can schedule OOC cupcakes every year and even that's not a guaranteed win anymore. They will pay out the *** to get a basketball coach but football will always be secondary. UK will never be a realistic threat for a conference championship until they get a big name coach. Football schools shop for their replacement coach's at the best stores per say..Barnhart shops big lots or value city..Wouldn't it be nice for once to have other schools courting our coach because he is good? Not gonna happen..The money is there, always been there but Barneygoogle somehow has faith in "big lot's quality"..Again IMO with the players we have this year AND the schedule we had this team at worse shoulda been 8-4..As with anything in this world..you get what you pay for..some will say nobody big time wants the UK job...That's crap, they put the money on the table they can get anybody and I mean anybody they want..
As I read this, it's laughable to think that people were scared that USC would try to hire Stoops away from UK just a little over a month ago.
