Ohhh man "Ullis can't extend his arm" here comes the excuses

Some things are excuses,
some are reasons.
Ulis was not 100%
Lee got 5 mins due to injury.

UCLA was just too big for us in the paint.
The refs did their normal calling according
to my view. (call it close outside, but every man for himself in the paint)
Mature fans see it for what it is, we were over matched inside & not ready to play.

As for some (UK) posts, mature fans shouldn't put too much stock in what college students and sports bar fans say after any game, win or lose.

UNC dropped from #1 to #9 after they lost their first game to an unranked team, with Kentucky losing their first game to an unranked UCLA, will/should they drop as far in the rankings as UNC did when the new polls come out on Monday?

My take ...it should be 6/10
We looked bad, but name those better...it's a short list.

Duke
UNC
MSU
MD
KU
UL?
IOWA ST
OKLA

You mean like this thread as to why Duke lost to UK this year? Too early in the season, Grayson Allen tried to hard...

I'm not trying to beat rude, but read through this thread if you want to see "excuses."

We would have still lost last night with a healthy Ulis and if Marcus Lee didn't get hurt. Those things did not factor into a game in which we got beaten soundly by a more prepared, hungrier team.

As for the cute "40-0" jokes, just remember that UK ended any chance had at going 40-0.

Lastly, I always love the "your team sucks" comments after a team lost. What does that say about your team that has already lost to that " clearly garbage" team?

I think UK got the same officiating crew UNC gets every time they loose (just kidding, LOL lose ) You know what would be interesting is that if UK and UNC meet this year and get that UNC loosing LOL losing game crew which team will be screwed by the refs the most. OFC

Who said your team sucks??? And nobody here EVER claimed we would be 40-0 and nobody here ever expected that either. You beat us in the third game of the season cool bro but that still don't mean a hill of beans when talking about you getting beat by UCLA a team your fan base was laughing over and just knew you would roll all over last night.

We have a lot of idiots in our fan base, most fan bases do. I wish the 40-0 talk would go away, it has basically grown into a practical joke now. Of course if fans seriously think this year's team is going 40-0, they are going to expect to roll UCLA. The only good thing about last night's loss is that those people will go away and hide now.

We looked like crap last night, not because of the officials or injuries, but because UCLA out couched and out played us. Ulis wasn't himself last night and Lee missing all but 4 minutes of the game hurt, but anybody who knows basketball knows that even with them both in there healthy we still do not win. The officiating I felt wasn't great, but it was a road game and you have to expect that. However, the officiating did not cause UK to lose that game in the least bit.

We beat Duke in the third game of the season, that doesn't mean anything come March, just like losing at UCLA in the eighth game of the season. Duke has responded well to its loss, only time will tell if UK does the same.

Cheers

I like Dukes chances in the dance this year, UK definitely wont be that juggernaut everybody was pumping them up to be. We look better every game, UK, not so much.

I agree 100% we look just as good now or better then everyone. It's as wide open as I've ever seen it

As opposed to UK last season, I've not seen any particular team characterized as a "juggernaut" this year, including this year's UK team. We could see a 3 or 4 loss team as the number 1 overall seed this season.

During the UNC/Maryland game, Bilas stated that there isn't a single team this year that would have been in the top five last year. I think this could be one of those years where a team that wasn't top ten all year gets hot at the right time. Much like the last two titles UConn won. They were not on anyone's short list all year really (particularly in 2014). I think it is highly possible this year's champ will be a team like that.
