Strecker still in the game for Kentucky. He may very well be the pitcher that Henderson leans on the most this year, that is typically Hendo's style. Always have one reliever that he relies on heavily.

Whew... second pitch right there and the Wofford hitter puts a charge into it, but Wilson tracks it down on the warning track. Wow... Cottam had the runner dead to rights, but White misses the tag and the Wofford runner gets the left arm back onto the bag. Mahan then brings in a line drive, tries to drop it and turn the double play, but the umpire doesn't allow it and calls it a line out. Salow then gets a strikeout to end the inning.

Becker first goes down swinging. Cottam follows suit and strikes out as well. Wilson also goes down swinging and UK starts the season 0-1.
Obviously smaller schools can get wins over bigger name teams...but that usually occurs in mid week games and not game 1 of the season.

Wofford was a solid team last year. They won a lot of games. However, they lost a lot of talent off that team. They beat us in every phase today. Better defense, hitting, and pricing. It happens but we have to bounce back.
Disapointing loss, but like you said Wofford is a good team, who threw their ace against us. Need to take the next 2 games and head to the west coast at 2-1 on the season.
This type of loss is not acceptable. Very curious as to when Cohen is let go. In my opinion, it should've happened about 2-3 years ago.
