Surely you jest...
I get the hate for UofL, but they're going to a better bowl. Citrus Bowl is so far from a bottom feeder. It's the top non-NY6 bowl, and has a payout of 4.25 million (also highest of the non-NY6 bowls)
Had we won the SEC East, this is probably where we would have gone.

Once VTech beats Clemson, then UL may end up in the MCB. That's the only way that could happen.

Great info...

With that in mind, there is actally a chance UL DOES go to a less prestigious bowl than us. If Clemson losses this weekend then they won't go to the playoffs and the ACC peaking order goes down a level.

UL would almost definitely end up in Russel Athletic, which IS below the Gator. We would also most likely play Miami instead of GA Tech.

Who could have possibly predicted that possibility two weeks ago : )). Needless to say I'm a big VA Tech fan this weekend!

The lowest Bowl for us is the Russell Athletic Bowl....A Clemson loss puts them in the Cotton Bowl, Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl and FSU to the Citrus Bowl.

Michigan would go to the CFP with Ohio State, the Big Ten Champ-(Penn State/Wisconsin) would go to the Rose Bowl...the loser would have 3 losses while Clemson would have 2 defeats.

With the ACC the Bowl Revenue goes into a Pool...Louisville will receive at worst the 3rd Most...that why a ACC Team can go to a higher paying Gator Bowl instead of the Gator.

Don't expect Clemson to lose, but VTech seems to be on a roll lately. That would be quite hilarious if they did end up in something like the Belk or MCB and we went to Taxslayer bowl.

Which would put UL in a lower bowl then UK. Bet you disn't see that as a option riding on one game two weeks ago

Happy for UK...And if we do it is deserved...you finish out the year instead of taking the month off...the ironic thing is "IF" Alabama crushes Florida tomorrow and Washington/Clemson wins will the CFP Committee do what they did to Baylor/TCU and flip them in the Rankings..with Louisville/FSU...going into the final weekend TCU was 3rd and Baylor was 6th...both won but Baylor won the Head to Head and the final ranking was Baylor 5th and TCU 6th...The FSU has the same record as Louisville but UofL won head to head by 43 points..going to be a interesting weekend

This is silly. The only reason we seem to be headed to the Taxslayer bowl is because the Taxslayer bowl wants somebody besides Tennessee and Georgia. I'll gladly take it but we didn't earn it on the field against those 2 teams.

But we did earn it on the field against UL.

Smack talk aside, I'd much rather spend time in Orlando versea Jacksonville

And why is that?
Why would the Taxslayer bowl prefer UK over Tenn or UGA? Pretty much the same records for this year for all 3 teams.

Going to be kinda hard...if Clemson wins they are CFP in Atlanta...FSU or UofL will split to the Orange Bowl and Citrus Bowl...The B1G will be in the Orange Bowl and that opens up the Citrus Bowl slot against the SEC...more than likely if Virginia Tech loses they are headed to the Russell Athletic Bowl.

Actually you earned it by going 7-3 the last 10...that is impressive...future is bright for the Wildcats in 2017 and both schools will do all in their power to take advantage of Florida recruiting durIng Bowl Week.

New blood. A fanbase excited to be in their bowl buying tickets instead of the same ol' same ol'.
So UK ends the season with a >20 points underdog win (some said UK was 4 TDs underdog) against the #11 ranked team with their presumed Heisman winner at their house has nothing to do with it?

Tenn and UGA both lost their last regular season game.

Ticket sales plays a part but the Taxslayer Bowl does want to present a good product.

I hate these bowl names nowadays . What did the Russell athletic bowl use to be called ? What happened to the peach bowl ?

The Peach Bowl is now called the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl after 6 or 7 years of just being called the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

Without any research I want to say it was the Champs Sports Bowl mostly recently and then the Tangerine before that. Its a nice little Florida bowl. Any bowl trip to Florida is nice despite its payout from a fan perspective.

I'm a UK fan and can't stand UofL. But this is a stupid post and the OP is our version of Kerry Rhodes. Invents ways to try and degrade any UofL accomplishment. Leave it alone and focus on how UK is doing...
hey Kerry Rhodes is a turd I am not a turd..at least not yet..Don't like em.don't read em..

Peach was the Peach, then the Chick Fila Peach, then the Chick Fila, then (I think) back to the Chick Fila Peach. It's actually one of the semi-final games which I think is odd.

Would be sort of funny if they rotated for every single bowl. Be cool too see 'Bama and Ohio State playing in the Idaho Potato Bowl for a trip to the national championship!

Link up your background on that thought. You are mistaken on that.

Here is the link to the History of the Russell Athletic Bowl:

Originally titled the Blockbuster Bowl, the game was born in Miami, Florida, in 1990 and thrived in its first year with a marquee matchup between Penn State and Florida State which drew more than 74,000 fans. Over the next 11 years, however, the game?s attendance dwindled, and it became apparent that the game would not survive in south Florida.

Sensing a unique opportunity to bring a second bowl game to Orlando, then Florida Citrus Sports (FCSports) Executive Director Chuck Rohe and the Board of Directors initiated a process of obtaining the bowl?s certification. The first game was called the Tangerine Bowl, a tribute to the name of Orlando?s original bowl game (now the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl).

Not the same game. Just a tribute to the original tangerine bowl

Look for UL to turn down any bowl lesser than the Citrus. That is beneath them. They are privileged. If Virginia Tech beats Clemson they expect to be back in the playoffs
