I'm looking forward to watching the game. I've never watched a volleyball game before. I'm not even sure if either of the 2 high schools I went to had a volleyball team. I looked it up and it only started as a sport in 1979 in KHSAA. I went to Ballard in 82-83, and 83-84 and if they had a team I didn't know about it. Finished up in BFE New York and I don't know it they had a team either.

Not a huge volleyball fan but will watch tonight but also enjoy women's beach VB and Olympics VB. Have a childhood friend who's a VB guru of some sort in Muncie, Ind. He apparently coached at UC also, alumni there as well.

Class of '78 here. No clue if they had a team.

86 but I went junior and senior year in NY.

I actually would have gone to Westport had they not changed it to a middle school. I think it was the year before because my sister was 2 years ahead of me and I'm pretty sure she went her freshman year at Westport and then moved to Ballard when Westport changed from high school to middle school.

This isn't the volleyball I played in gym class. There are only 6 players on the court instead of 9 and it doesn't appear they rotate after every point like I thought they did. I also thought you had to be serving to score but that doesn't appear to be correct either. I'll figure it out.

Why does each team have someone wearing a different color jersey than the rest of the team?

You don't have to serve to score but you serve until you lose a point then it goes over to the other team. Correct?

Don't know much about volleyball but that girl hit the ball so we hit it 4 times on that point. I'm not sure how you go to replay on that and say we didn't.

Sweet. I had almost said they should take the tennis route and save energy to give up that set for the next one. Might as well just go ahead and win it.
Shows what I know about volleyball.

Not only r these UK women incredible volleyball players and wonderful ambassadors for the school and the sport, they are by far the easiest on the eyes ( collectively) of all the teams I have seen this year. Just sayin

I don't know. 2 of the 3 were successful and the one that wasn't was the one I thought was most obvious.
I thought from the first angle it looked like she touched it, although it’s hard to tell whether The hand is in front or behind the ball with some of those angles. The second angle, I thought showed clear space between her fingers and the ball. I thought it was the right call.

As for the challenges? I think you learn to know what battles to fight. The missed net violation was huge in UK's favor. They may have quite possibly have lost that 3rd set if the correct call was made and who knows if they recover from that to pull it out in 5. Again, missed calls are part of the game.

On the first one, the ball started spinning in a different direction. That means a force sent it that way.
