All 4 personal foul calls (3 on us and 1 on Marshall) on the sidelines were bullsh!t including the last Bush League call. All were either right on the line or inbounds at impact with no targeting. Garbage.

All of the late poor unsportsmanlike flags were a cumulative result of Marshall's borderline dirty play early in the game. Clearly the refs felt that they had to keep control but as was said earlier in the thread - the calls were a joke. I loved the part where Petrino told the side judge that he was "making **** up".

The refs were awful the replays showed those unsportsmanlike penalties were unjustified. They went to the review booth to see if it was targeting and they saw it wasn't and they also saw the player was in bounds so they made a bad call. When they came back all they said was the play on the field stands but they never said what the penalty was. You could see CBP asking what the penalty was and the announcers were asking what the penalty was.

That reminded me of the refereeing we got in the Big East. Really poor. The announcers even disagreed with a lot of calls.

I was confused by the play where they called holding on Marshall and the sideline Personal Foul on us and the result was simply first down Marshall.

Someone at BPs post game press conference asked him about the personal foul penalty that occurred on the Fake Punt. BP's response was "you are trying to get me in trouble aren't you". He then said "tonight I could get in a lot of trouble". Without actually saying it, he clearly indicated he thought the officiating was bad.

Refs were intimidated by the crowd, and probably didn't know how to handle Marshall's continual jaw jacking that went on throughout. Typically teams come out fired up the first drive or two, then the game settles in and both teams allow their play to do the talking. Didn't really happen last night. It was surprising, until I noticed their coach looking absolutely insane. No offense to anybody that's crazy reading this.
