Why do you call him ultra liberal? Do you think that someone's personal politics is a key reason to hire them or not to be a tv news anchor?
I think the news should be balanced, presenting facts on both sides. This is clearly not the case today. The newsrooms love diversity in everything but ideology. That is why their trust is so low.
Hire someone that middle America can trust. It's good for professionalism and good for ratings. Hiring the same tired libs is not the answer.

I don't know...I do know he didn't "lose his job at CBS." One article I read said he was spread too thin and he wanted to work less, it was his decision.
