UMich won by larger than expected margins over tOSU and Penn State, and both were the product of home run running plays by running backs who are not noted for having super elite straight speed. Very similar second half games.

However, UMich had small margin wins v Maryland and Ilinois - the refs may have actually assisted the Illinois win. Maryland could also have won without the late turnover. Also Iowa would have likely had a closer margin if they had any type of offense.

What do you think let Maryland and Illinois to take UMich to the end in one score games where UMich was actually lucky, but tOSU and PSU got blown out (in the second half)? What makes the tOSU and PSU matchup to UMich different?

Maybe Michigan plays to their level of competition. They get up more for Penn State and OSU vs MD and IL.

Maryland and Illinois have better fan board coaches. 🤔
