I can't look at the early pitching records and use them to compare because the numbers are crazy. Old Hoss Radbourn won 60 games in 1884. Last season the most starts for a pitcher was 33. I would agree that almost all pitching records won't ever be surpassed the game is too different. even modern ones like Ryan's strikeout record (5,714) likely are out of reach.
Given how inaccurate all of these volume shooters are, I think Kobe's 81 will stay in 2nd place for a very long time.
7 complete games in a career is a stretch for pitchers coming up today.
Seventeen complete games so far in 2025. Valdez, of Houston, leads the majors with two.

It's interesting to look at it historically. As I said, there is some outside chance that Dabo catches Joe's 409 or an NBA player goes nuts and scores 101 as they feed him all 4th quarter.

The amazing thing is that they limit pitches to avoid injuries yet there seems to be more injuries than ever.
It’s almost certainty because guys are pushing their bodies further and further chasing velocity, spin rates, etc.
