I went to the Dem platform and didn't find that. You're known to lie a lot so I ask, is that true?

I don't lie. Libs just don't like what I have to say. I almost always back up my statements with links/research/articles to reinforce my point.

PHILADELPHIA, July 27, 2016 – The Democratic Party’s 2016 platform pledges to “stand up” for Planned Parenthood, fund abortion nationwide and around the world, vows to “overturn” state and federal restrictions on abortion, proposes cracking down on pro-life sidewalk counselors, and affirms abortion as “core” to people’s “health and well-being.”

Delegates to the Democratic National Convention formally adopted the 55-page-long platform on Monday.

In addition to a constitutional right, the platform describes “safe and legal abortion” as “core to women’s, men’s, and young people’s health and well-being.”

“We will continue to stand up to Republican efforts to defund Planned Parenthood health centers, which provide critical health services to millions of people,” the document says. Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, who was endorsed by Planned Parenthood early in the primaries, has promised “more federal funding for Planned Parenthood” if she is elected.

While Democratic politicians have defended funding the nation’s largest abortion provider by noting that taxpayers do not pay for abortions in most cases, they would change that if possible.

“We will continue to oppose—and seek to overturn—federal and state laws and policies that impede a woman’s access to abortion, including by repealing the Hyde Amendment,” which prohibits abortion funding except in the cases of rape or incest.

The platform vows to end the “discrimination” that does not allow low-income women to have their abortions paid for by taxpayers, and respects the consciences of those who choose not to offer abortion in their health insurance plans.

For the first time, the nation’s oldest political party calls for repealing the Helms Amendment, which bars U.S. taxpayer funding of abortion through foreign aid to other nations. “Safe abortion must be part of comprehensive maternal and women’s health care and included as part of America’s global health programming,” the platform states.

The Democratic policy document also carries the implied threat of greater federal prosecution of sidewalk counselors, as Democrats say they will “combat any acts of violence, harassment, and intimidation of reproductive health providers, patients, and staff.” An 84-page “resource guide” given to FBI agents in 2010 described pro-life “pamphlets targeting staff” and “noise disturbance” as forms of “intimidation.”

Predictably, the platform reiterates Clinton’s promises to appoint judges who “will protect a woman’s right to safe and legal abortion,” something she has called a “litmus test.”

It also insists on maintaining no-cost contraception.

“We are committed to creating a society where children are safe and can thrive physically, emotionally, educationally, and spiritually,” the platform’s section on “Securing Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice” concludes.

No further left to go
NARAL Pro-Choice America President Ilyse Hogue – who served on the platform committee – called this year’s document “far and away the most progressive platform on reproductive health, freedom and justice in the history of the party."

"If platforms are statements of collective values and a blueprint for candidates to follow once elected, the choice could not be more clear," said Hogue, who is scheduled to address the DNC this afternoon, as is EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock.

It strongly contrasts with the Republican Party’s 2016 platform, widely described as the most pro-life in the party’s history. In addition to a constitutional amendment protecting the unborn, the platform endorses conscience rights and, for the first time, calls for defunding Planned Parenthood.

Kristen Day, executive director of Democrats for Life of America, objected that her own party "would force those who object to abortion to contribute to what we believe would be government-funded killing, and it would eradicate policies that have already saved hundreds of thousands of lives."

“There is no further left for the Democratic Party to go,” said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser.

She said her organization’s “ground team has already knocked on more than 466,000 doors in battleground states reaching voters – including pro-life Democrats – confident that the Clinton-Kaine position in support of abortion on-demand, up until the moment of birth, at taxpayer’s expense, will be rejected at the ballot box.”

States have restrictions on partial birth abortion. The Dem platform unequivocally states they will overturn state and federal restrictions. Nice try.

A new poll finds that the Democratic Party platform on abortion is at odds not only with the vast majority of voters but also the large swath of Americans who identify as "pro-choice."

The Marist poll, paid for by a pro-life group, found that nearly 80 percent of Americans support "substantial restrictions" that would limit abortion to the first trimester. More than 60 percent of self-identified "pro-choice" respondents "would limit it to, at most, the first three months of pregnancy," according to a release.

Voters are also wary of taxpayer funding of abortion. More than 60 percent of Americans, including 44 percent of Democrats, oppose government payments to abortion clinics.

The proposed Democratic Party platform supports taxpayer funding for abortion. The platform committee endorsed the repeal of the Hyde Amendment, which blocks the use of tax dollars to pay for abortions. The party vowed to maintain funding for the nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, which receives roughly $500 million, or about 40 percent of its annual revenue, from taxpayers.

"We will continue to oppose—and seek to overturn—federal and state laws and policies that impede a woman’s access to abortion, including by repealing the Hyde Amendment," the proposed platformsays. "We will continue to stand up to Republican efforts to defund Planned Parenthood health centers."

Presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton was the first candidate to win Planned Parenthood’s endorsement in the primary. Her campaign has paid the group thousands of dollars for staff time and volunteer reimbursement. Clinton also has a 100 percent rating from NARAL, the pro-abortion advocacy group, and voted against banning partial birth abortion.

However, Clinton has distanced herself from hardline positions on abortion on the campaign trail, coming out against partial birth abortion on MSNBC in September. Clinton said she would support "late pregnancy regulation that would have exceptions for the life and health of the mother" in a Fox News town hall in March, while her opponent, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) endorsed total support for abortion at any stage.

The poll also asked Americans about recent developments in the abortion debate. Seventy-eight percent of respondents backed safety regulations passed in Texas that required abortion clinics to have hospital admitting privileges and maintain safety standards on par with outpatient surgical centers. The Supreme Court struck down the regulations in June.

"About three quarters of those who identify as pro-choice (74 percent) agree [to safety standards], as do strong majorities regardless of party affiliation," the release said. "Pro-life and pro-choice adherents are also equally likely to support [the hospital admission] requirement at a rate of 7 in 10 for each group (71 percent)."

More than half of respondents—56 percent, including 40 percent of pro-choicers—backed conscience protections for doctors and employers. Only 37 percent of respondents opposed conscience protections.

The Obama administration approved a California measure in June that would require all health insurance providers in the state to cover elective abortion, prompting concerns from pro-life employers. The House of Representatives passed the Conscience Protection Act 245-182 on July 13 to protect pro-life health care entities from the abortion mandate. President Obama has promised to veto the bill.

The poll surveyed more than 1,000 Americans between July 5 and July 12—right around the time the Democratic Party released the draft platform. It was commissioned by the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic fraternal and charity organization.

"The American people have spoken clearly on their desire for abortion restrictions, less taxpayer funding of it, and common sense regulations on this industry to protect women’s health," Knights of Columbus CEO Carl Anderson said in a release.

Pro-choice groups called for a more vocal debate on abortion in the primary and general elections throughout the 2016 campaign. The Susan B. Anthony List, which supports pro-life candidates, agreed that more debate is needed, saying it could end up hurting Democrats whose views on abortion are outside the mainstream of American public opinion.

"The Democratic Party and its leaders are moving further and further away from the American people," spokeswoman Mallory Quigley said. "Hillary Clinton, Tim Kaine and the abortion lobby are pushing Democrats to be further extreme on abortion."

Democratic delegates will vote to approve the official platform at the convention on Monday.

I went to the Dem platform expecting to see the words "ninth month", not there. I read the article, again no "ninth month". You said it was in their platform, it's not. You're a liar.

Dem party vows to overturn state and federal abortion restrictions. Partial birth is restricted. Seems clear as day. You just don't like to read these facts. You may disagree with the platform. Most Americans want abortion to be limited to the first 3 months.

You did not miss your calling to be a journalist that's for sure seeing how loose you are with the facts. What you said is in the national Democratic platform is simply not there. You lied. Now if you said that the Dem party favors this or that or the Dems vow to do something, you would have never seen me in this thread. I was surprised to read what you wrote and come to find out that the reason I was surprised is because what you posted is simply not true. Another day, another lie for you but I've come to expect that from you.

They vowed to overturn abortion restrictions. This is one of those restrictions. It actually started in 2012.

President Clinton believed abortion should be “safe, rare; and legal.” But Clinton also believed in a work requirement in his welfare reform bill.
President Obama apparently disagrees on both counts.

After unilaterally allowing states to waive the central pillar of the landmark and bipartisan 1996 welfare reform act — the work requirement — Obama has also proven himself to be a wild-eyed extremist on the issue of abortion and way out of step with at least two-thirds of the American people. And his convention platform backs this extremism up.

In 2008, the Democrat Party platform on abortion read this way:

The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to choose a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay, and we oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.

Obama was in charge of the Democrat Party in 2008, and there’s been no scuttlebutt whatsoever about any change that might include an exception for children who are already partially born and very much alive — but still aborted. The practice known as partial-birth abortion is infanticide — nothing more, nothing less. It’s a horrifying procedure (more here) that over two-thirds of Americans believe should be illegal.

And there’s little hope the 2012 platform will calibrate towards sanity and include this exception. After all, Obama is still in charge of the Democrat Party, and while running for the U.S. Senate in 2003, Obama defended late-term abortion:

Worse still, as a state senator in Illinois, Obama opposed the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act and in his defense said something that should put a chill up every mother’s spine:

There wasn’t any question about what was happening. The abortions were going wrong. The babies weren’t cooperating. They wouldn’t die as planned. Or, as Illinois state senator Barack Obama so touchingly put it, there was “movement or some indication that, in fact, they’re not just coming out limp and dead.”

No, Senator. They wouldn’t go along with the program. They wouldn’t just come out limp and dead.

They were coming out alive. Born alive. Babies. Vulnerable human beings Obama, in his detached pomposity, might otherwise include among “the least of my brothers.” But of course, an abortion extremist can’t very well be invoking Saint Matthew, can he? So, for Obama, the shunning of these least of our brothers and sisters – millions of them – is somehow not among America’s greatest moral failings.

But not Barack Obama. As an Illinois state senator, he voted to permit infanticide. And now, running for president, he banks on media adulation to insulate him from his past.

The record, however, doesn’t lie.

Infanticide is a bracing word. But in this context, it’s the only word that fits. Obama heard the testimony of a nurse, Jill Stanek. She recounted how she’d spent 45 minutes holding a living baby left to die.

Via The Weekly Standard, here’s the chilling audio of Obama speaking those words:

The same media currently killing themselves to tie an idiotic statement made by a Missouri Senate candidate to Mitt Romney did everything in its corrupt power to protect Obama from his own statement and voting record in 2008 and is engaging in the same coverup now.

Here’s something else the corrupt media is covering up about Obama’s abortion extremism — Obama’s actions as recently as 2008:

Obama’s 2008 endorsement of late-term abortion bans also appeared to be in conflict with his support for the Freedom of Choice Act. In 2007, Obama cosponsored the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), which would strike down restrictions on abortion at the state and federal level. The bill stated that all abortions must be legal before “viability” for any reason and that abortions must be legal until birth if a woman’s health is at risk. FOCA does not contain a definition of “health,” therefore “anything an abortionist says is related to ‘health’ is sufficient,” according to Douglas Johnson, legislative director of the National Right to Life Committee. “A state would not be able to adopt any limiting definition (for example, defining ‘health’ to exclude emotional distress), because that would be to narrow and infringe on the federally guaranteed right which FOCA would establish. The entire purpose of FOCA is to prohibit any narrowing of the federally guaranteed right — for example, by requiring parental notification, or by refusing to fund abortions.”

There’s a culture of life and a culture of death, and the man leading the charge in the culture of death is the same man who just took over our entire health care system.

Who’s the real extremist? The man who won’t stand up to oppose aborting a live child already partially born or the ticket that believes in protecting life but is in favor of the rape, incest, and life-of-mother exceptions?

Like Medicare, this is another debate the Romney Campaign should be eager to have and is, thankfully, starting to engage on.

The only extremist on this issue is Obama, which is why the media is working so hard to focus all of their fire on Todd Akin and la-dee-da a president who is on record supporting infanticide.
