UNC Admin settles with US Justice Dept over various claims and complaints. I won’t link the N&O article, but the settlement announced restores/protects the school’s federal research funding, requires race-neutral admissions compliance, antisemitism and other training, and creation of university oversight (i believe reporting to the Justice Dept) to ensure compliance.
Chancellor Roberts even solicited Holden Thorp’s opinion (eye rolls inserted here) on the settlement and got a thumb’s up that it was a better deal than most of UNC’s peer institutions negotiated.
