If this has already been discussed, I am very sorry. I would like to know what the difference is? Fab Melo had a paper written for him, proven fact. Boeheim and Syracuse have penalties against the school. UNC has numerous professors that have admitted to doing wrong and yet........nothing? I am not saying one is greater than the other, I just feel that if this was any other school the UNC, the sanctions would be stiff as heck. The investigation with UNC has been going on now for quite some time now and yet they still have no penalties or sanctions.

There are a lot of details, too much to actually write out here. From what I've read the biggest difference, in terms of the academic stuff, is that it was shown that members of the athletic department (mostly directly associated to the basketball team) were doing work for the players. In the UNC case, we've yet to see that others were doing the work for the players. Rashad McCants has claimed this but I don't think anyone took him seriously.

What work was required of the North Carolina players? That is the scandal. There wasn't any.

The big difference is that at least Syracuse made their players write papers.
