I come in peace.

How do you guys feel about your team this year? I suppose everything is gravy after last year but I think you have the chance to be really good come tourney time. Well, provided Amile gets healthy.

Ingram has been so much better than I though he would as has Allen. However, can Allen keep it up in league play?

On paper UNC should win at least one but we all know how that goes in this rivalry?

Outside of Tobacco Road, Kansas and Oklahoma look legit and we know Sparty and Kentucky will be around at the end of the year.

I like our team offensively. With that, we will win some games. But I don't think Duke plays good enough defensively to overcome an off night on offense. With Amile, Duke is a top 10 team, without him, for now I think they are where they should be.

As far as where they match up with UNC, I don't like it. We have no answer for Johnson and Hicks right now and I don't see it being any different on Feb 17th. We will heavily be reliant on making our shots and staying out of foul trouble.

I would wish your team luck, but it would be a lie, so I won't.

I'll be honest I always thought we would split or possibly sweep y'all but now I really don't see a way we win unless we seriously improve or Carolina has a real off night.

You know Pisgah, I just do not get the part "I really don't see a way"

Understand, I agree that UNC looks better at this point - how much is up in the air, but clearly better.

I understand that when we look statistically the best team in the rivalry USUALLY wins.

BUT - it happens and in this rivalry seems to happen more than the statistical norm.

I see ways we win:
  • We go off on them scoring. The more we score the more we take them out of their greatest strength (not only but greatest) the transition game.
  • Coach K has the perfect game plan. That sure is not far out of the realm of possibility.
  • Our defense improves greatly - it did last year.
  • Development of our team continues.

Duke has to get healthy. Amile is a big, big loss. But injuries happen, it's part of the game.

Like I said unless we improve or they have an off night. Don't get me wrong I wanna win every game by 50 but realistically RIGHT NOW we would be a big underdog.

That would be awesome, but Miami, the Cheats and UVA will be tough to hang with as this thing wears on. We can only do it if Jeter and Thornton take huge steps forward in the next few weeks. I'm not seeing it. I said we had no shot in 2010 either, so K can certainly prove me wrong.

Virginia's conference slate, on paper, is the easiest of the perceived top four. I can't see them finishing outside the top three, and kind of have them pegged for second. With the exception of UNC, who I see losing around three conference games, I think teams 2-6 could be really jumbled up.

Good to be back and hope you guys are well. I've mellowed a lot on the sport in the last few years and don't take it as seriously as before. Try to enjoy it. Jay got me to come back and I'll try to stick around.

But if you guys beat us in the 17th, I'll probably take a few days off for my sanity.

It was tough watching you guys win it all this past year. Only a UNC title will ease my pain.

Speaking of Jay, I wish he hadn't banned that idiot that was posting here earlier, he was going to give me 100:1 odds on unc winning it all. I was gonna take unc for 100 bucks @ 100:1 but Jay banned him before we got it solid.

What idiot? Honestly, besides UK fans after our game with them this year I haven't banned but maybe five others....total. UK fans were actually the first bans I made since we went to the new system. The only reason I know that is because it took me a while to figure out how to get rid of the idiots.

Is it just me or have we said this about Virginia for the last 3 years? I agree with the statement as well. Wish there were someway to go to an equal schedule where everyone played home and home with each team. In my opinion it is now hard to get a "TRUE" regular season conference champion.

I know it was commented last year because I said it at one point. VA had the most favorable of the schedules against the top teams.

I have complained that I miss the play everyone twice ACC and the regular season has become devalued.

Personally I always thought the regular season had a bit more luster than the tournament. Now, it is nice to win, but not at the same level year to year because of the uneven schedule.
