Unc frat drug raids

Had lunch with a friend who's an N.C. State alum yesterday. Graduated mid-2000's. He had a good friend at Carolina he'd visit pretty often. Can't remember what fraternity he was in but my friend said when he'd visit drugs were "EVERYWHERE". He said they weren't even particularly discreet about it. Pretty much everything except heroin.
Shame on them for selling drugs to our fine Duke students. ): OFC
One of the alleged dealers who is facing charges was one of our "fine Duke Students" according to the report from the Orange County Sheriff's office.
Exactly....this university isn't innocent in all this mess either
May justice be served then. I would beca very naive person if I thought Duke students were squeeky clean. Those who were involved and are guilty need to be punished accordinally even if some time in prison is needed. These students are supposed to be our future. They msy or may not include law students or med students . We surely don't need them as our future doctors, attorneys, judges and future leaders . I really hope they get what's coming to them no matter how much money mommy and daddy has or who mommy and daddy may be. They've may some money make them pay for their own defense. I hope this is not swept under the rug and their names made public just like anyone else. I apologize for the joke about shame on them for selling to Duke students or any other people. OFC

If it was just weed, I'd say no big deal. But they were selling heroin and other hard drugs.
Reminds me of my worst college memory. I was having a miserable time at a UNC fraternity party. A stunning young lady asked me to take her upstairs. We went to a room with some evil young men with pills and cocaine and marijuana. I couldn't figure out why she needed me to go upstairs. I still don't know why. The people in that room were better looking than I, mostly smarter than I, but wasting their talents.
Really? Maybe not as big a deal. But certainly a problem legally and grounds for suspension, if not expulsion, from school.
Hoping we get updates on this and it's not swept under the rug and thaat includes any Duke students rug. I do understand its pretty normal on campus' for drug and alcohol comsumption but that's been the norm for decades. I came of age during the late 60's and early 70's so it's not new. Even the dealing was going on campus' in those days. But it was illegal and a crime then as it is now. Sometimes it becomes a felony and ends up with lengthy prison terms. But worst of all is the addiction. I have a cousin who is doing time right now not for dealing but for breaking and entering to supply his habit. I had two friends my age pass away a few years ago because they never could overcome their habits. It's no telling how many lives that has already been screwed up by these dealers. Some people can quit some can't and I also know that it is always their choice. OFC

In my opinion, any student selling drugs on campus or possibly off campus should be expelled permanently. Use of illegal drugs on campus, should result in a first offense of probation just like alcohol abuse at Duke is dealt with. If the use continues, then expulsion from Duke should occur with the possibility of returning after treatment and with continued surveillance. The same thing should apply to the faculty and administration.
Yea, some people just do not understand that you cannot just pick and chooses the laws you do not want to obey.
