Appreciated man.
I post on both boards after our annual battles win or lose. I’ve stuck to that ever since I’ve been on rivals.
Anyway last night was just another nail biter in a long line in this rivalry. I was just happy we finally broke that 6 game losing streak in the ACC tourney against you guys.
We lost to our most hated rival, get over it. I know a lot of you do not want to hear this but UNCheat has a great chance to win a ship, get over it. Theo Pinson, Joel Berry, Luke Maye are great college players, get over it. UNCheat's freshman bigs are playing great, which is why they could win it all, get over it.
Now, we are still a dominate team even with last night's loss. Keep in mind this was the third time playing the defending national champions led by two very good seniors. I do not believe teams in the NCAA's want to draw this Duke team as a match up, reason being it is very hard for most teams to match up against us. I am still a believer in this being the most talented team in college basketball, they just have not consistently maxed their talents out as a team. Truth is going into the NCAA if you're not a top 5 team you do not want to see Duke in the tournament.

I’d rather shoot 0-25 from 3 with two turnovers and only give up a couple offensive boards and lose, then lose the way we have this year which is the same every single time. At least you can say, hey fellas it just wasn’t our night but we fought hard and played smart. We just couldn’t throw it in the ocean. However, we are who we are. We lose by beating ourselves time and time again. Turnovers and offensive boards. Secondarily our basketball IQ as a team is low. And in a twist of fate we actually shot the ball well from the line. If we didn’t we lose by a bundle.
Yeah you knew that ACCT streak was gonna end sooner rather than later. More or less was a fluky thing.
I’m with Tim.... I can handle getting beat all day, and UNC certainly contributed, but damn it’s tough to swallow all the self inflicted wounds!

i think UNC played ok but not great....they took 17 more shots than we did and beat us by 5...2 possessions....you cannot give any team that many more shots and expect to win. Its a miracle it was that close in the end.
Pure miracle. I was talking to Hokie about this earlier, but between the 18 offensive boards and 18 turnovers that’s essentially giving them another 36 possessions. He made the correct comment that it’s like time of possession in football. Even if they don’t make them all they are getting extra looks which at some point they will convert them. Additionally, it means our defense is continuing to work/expending energy.
Heels shot under 40% in all three games against Duke. Duke turnovers have been huge. Duke rose to 7th defensively in pomeroy.
Duke is going to the Final Four and May win it all imo.
I am 100% on board that turnovers are our biggest issue. In all but two of our losses, we had had 16+
We lost because Duval went out with an injury which killed our zone. AOC can’t guard the three point line like Duval or get in passing lanes like Duval. His defense is on par with Kennard’s.
The three big line-up with Javin playing a wing hurts us.
Grayson is not a point guard. He turns the ball over too much and at the end of games he tries to play hero ball too much and forces too many bad shots.
