First time in 10 years! In 2 years Keatts has a regular season championship and a tournament championship. Love it, he'll probably get an offer and leave like any other coach who has had success here.

But let me get a HELL YEAH!

unca coach played at ashville and has never left. after graduating he became an assistant and has just kept climbing. 20 years total at school. great story. keatts is a heck of a coach. i live in wilmington and go to the games. he is young and very good. the w will be lucky to keep him for four years. this guy is a major division one school type coach.

Was at the last two CAA Tourney games under the basket. It was crazy last night. Feel fortunate that when we rushed the court Sean Millers prediction that somebody is going to get punched didn't come true. GO SEAHAWKS!!!

That is pretty cool about Ashville's coach.

We used to go to a lot more of the games but my wife's schedule hasn't worked out for the last few years. We did make it to the Charleston game and the heartbreaking game vs Hofstra. I wish more people around here would get into the games. When I try to get people to go, they ***** about paying $27.

was at hofstra game also. season tickets are the way to go. a few of us bought a pair and kinda divy them up per who what when and where. interesting thing is that during the charleston game (which i watched on tv) they remarked that uncw led the conference in attendance for the year. charleston was second so the league is really hoping that this turns into a ''name'' rivalry. works for me.

Gentlemen,

Its been an honor talking with you on these boards. I have been a lifelong Duke fan and in 32 years have never once rooted against Duke....until now. For 1 day(and the days leading up to that 1 day) I will be rooting for the Seahawks. I went to UNCW and have always maintained a person can root for any school, even if they did not in fact attend said school, UNLESS the school they did attend is playing. I have watched for years as UNCW fell a game short of playing Duke in the tourney. 2002 we almost upset Indiana, 2006 we blew a games to George Washington....Duke was waiting both times and I could only watch as my teams almost collided. Now the tourney committee has set up this epic matchup and I must prepare. All the signed jerseys, balls, banners, and photos have come down from my basement. I will not wear anything Duke all week. I hope no matter the outcome to be able to return to the board is solid standing dispite my temporary mutiny. GO SEAHAWKS!!!

Now...as for the matchup. I feel this is a good matchup for both teams. UNCW has no true post player and thus won't beat Duke down low, however Duke likely won't just run the ball into the post every play either which has hurt us in games. Duke shoots the 3 well, UNCW guards the 3 well. Flemmings has come out of nowhere to lead UNCW in scoring. At 6'5" he's got the size to play with Dukes guards as does Bryce. All of UNCWs guards won't hesitate to pull up from the 3 point line. Duke will give up size most other positions. Gettys has the size to go against Plumlee, but not the footspeed to make it favorable and only averages 15 . Ingram will present a matchup nightmare as he has for everyone all year. Keys to the game, UNCW has to hit the outside shot....no way they win any other way. They also have to keep Plumlee off the offensive glass. They have given up a lot of 2nd chance easy putbacks and Plumlee could easily have 6-8 dunks at the half. Duke has to beat the press. UNCW will hound them up and down the court, Duke can't make sloppy passes and turnovers. Duke doesn't have to hit outside shots, but they do need to press UNCW offensively. UNCW has not faced a team like Duke, and though people think they may come out "starstruck" our coach was with UL for years before coming here. His teams have played against and beaten Duke, and he will have UNCW ready. Duke can't look ahead to Saturday.

Best of luck.

There's mutiny aboard. I can respect your post, but then again I hope Duke wears out the Seahawks and gets some momentum going.

Good post. If there's one thing all Duke fans should be cognizant of it's not to look past this first round game. I did some studying last night on UNC-W and they're clearly a talented bunch that matches up with Duke quite well. I expect the first half and the beginning of the second half to be somewhat nerve-racking for Duke fans, but I do expect our talent to win out in the end. I've been impressed by our heart all season but am apprehensive at times when it comes to finishing. Here's to hoping for an injury-free game all around and a Duke win.

First. It really looked like Wilmington and Duke were going to play each other in 2002 and what could have been?

2nd, I also went to UNCW, but I just can't root against Duke. I am seriously pissed off about them having to play each other.

3. Go Duke! , but should Wilmington win, I will have something to celebrate.

Here's how I see it. Yes I would like both to have been able to advance. That said, they play each other. If Duke wins, well they are suppose to win, UNCW still gets as much press as any other games. People will watch just because its Duke. There will be all kinds of press about our two time CAA coach of the year(hoping he stays) If UNCW somehow pulls off the upset...well there's no team they could beat that will get more attention the next day than Duke. Basically to me UNCW comes out positive no matter what.

I am a UNCW grad too, but a huge Duke fan. I have been watching Duke basketball since the 1977-78 season. I wish they were not playing each other in the first round. I am hoping for a good showing by UNCW.

I have degrees from UNC-W and UNC. Would love to see an upset tomorrow!

Well damn, outside of which half Plumlee would have 6-8 dunks in I nailed that analysis dead on. Great game, refs called it too close for my comfort(too many ticky tack fouls that might technically be fouls but 30+ feet out let it go) but you gotta play how they call it and UNCW pressed a little to hard once the press was beaten for that style of play call. All and all we were in it with a minute left, can't really be unhappy with that.

*takes of UNCW shirt....puts on Duke shirt....hangs all the Duke stuff back on walls....*

And I'm back. Go YALE!!!
