It is reported he is a target for the LSU job. Could be a leverage move, would think the IL gig is better than LSU.

Lol He’s not going anywhere. He has built the Illinois program back up from the depths and has amazing recruits coming in.

Best coach at Illinois in many years.

Agree. Illini and BIG jobs better than sec for basketball. Lsu may offer him job. But I don't see him leaving all the success he has built at Champurbana. my illini grads friends wholeheartedly concur

What if LSU triples his salary?
There's so much dirty money in those SEC programs, anything is possible.

Doesn’t seem all that inspiring.
I agree.

But I don't really have strong feelings regarding up and coming coaches. That's for people who make it their job to follow such things. Would require at least the level of attention I pay to the B1G to have more than gut feelings or instincts when seeing these names.

I could not tell you a single assistant I would be excited about. And yet, Arizona or Penn State (and I guess Texas Tech) are probably very happy with what they got. Minnesota, at least not unhappy so far.

He has players that can jump, run and bully but they play some really dumb basketball and don’t shoot very well. They looked horrible in both tournament games. Many of your buddies on the Illini message boards think Underwood is horrible and is the problem. Gotta love good ole delusional Illini fans.

Ill-whine-i going down. Hard to believe they tied for the B1G championship this year. They looked like deer in the headlights in the first game and were lucky not to lose that one. Not so lucky today. After Duke finished with MSU today, it'll be a couple more B1G teams on the sidelines. Given the resources and fan support in the B1G, they should be doing better.

Literally every fan base is filled with hundreds of Coach K’s. It an easy game from your sofa. Iowa fans blasting Fran, and Illini fans hammering Undie shows you what little they know.

Regarding U of AZ(see prior post mentioning Arizona) I have lived in Tucson for 9 years (and NO I have not become a AZ Wildcat fan) and based on articles in the local newspaper, many alumni were not happy when Tommy Lloyd was chosen as coach..so far looks like they were wrong

Underwood might be the second coming, but that looked like a woefully unprepared team in the tournament opener. The Mocs often had two-three guys collapsing on Kofi, and the Illini still had trouble getting good three-point shots off. Way too much dribbling and stagnation on offense. Frazier, one of their leading players, largely disappeared during the game.
