I think the point about checkdowns is twofold.

1. You probably shouldn't have to check down very much against an FCS team (yes I know there have been downfield completions).
2. Checkdowns do this against an overmatched opponent, let's see how well they work against a Big Ten team.

These throws are in rhythm and hitting the running backs in stride where they are picking up first downs about every play.

No one should be complaining about these check downs. They are the right reads and best of all Brown is being quick and decisive about it so the running backs are catching the football in space with plenty of open field in front of them to pick up first downs and make defenders miss for even bigger gains.

Check downs are often great in this style of offense. I'm a Bengals fan and Burrow checks down all the time.

Brown has been making the correct read from what I have seen. And those check down throws have been made in rhythm and accurately so the receiver is able to rack up the YAC.

Yeah they're definitely a frontrunning team/program. Only getting up for the games that matter and fortunately for them, their schedule is weak enough that it won't burn them for doing so, unlike Oregon........
