Howard CANNOT complete the short passes. Same as the bowl game last year. He's got to improve on that.
I was thinking the same thing. They are REAL slow. Those sweeps with the WR in motion will be often ill-timed.
Excuses? I know we got this. But still, you are saying we are playing a cupcake. We aren't.
Most of them this game he has a clear line of sight.....just no touch...or off. I like his confidence though.
He's missed the wide open short ones though. One to Durante for a TD, now one to Gibson. There was another one that I can't quite think of who it was to. He's throwing it too hard short.

Please act like WVU is a historically solid program.
All of Howard's throws have been high out short. The receivers have been pretty good. Glad we have this game and next week to help him out.
Like I said the horses are there to win 9 games. But DH has got to play to the strengths.
I'm not sure what to make of this first half. My instinct is to say I'm pleasantly surprised. But Howard is missing too many open guys and the running game has been spotty. Defense? They game planned pretty well for this one, but they were fortunate on a couple of plays that they were one step faster than the Ga. Southern runners. But as Dana pointed out at halftime, when they hit them they're taking them to ground. So far, I think this might be a little better team than I thought.
Even his completed long pass completions were more plays by the receivers than a good pass. He is long and high over and over. Hope he settles down
Remember...they are a cupcake.....so either:
1. Your ability to judge cupcakes is skewed
OR
2. We aren't as good as we thought.
Take away those long balls where we just out ran their DB's, and we are knotted up.
Dana has to develop a passing game But he has a history of forgettIng the running game.
That said..
#4 is not a runninh bsck. Move him to slot.
You are the one that should stop. When you say "cupcake", that's a 63-0 scores. I've been the one saying that Georgia Southern is better than you give them credit. I think we are pretty good. Just attempting to make you look how ridiculous you sound by saying they are a "cupcake", yet we are not blowing them out.
I was worried we'd have a tough time replacing Kevin White's production. We have some REALLY good young WR's. Can't wait to see them develop.
