Having weathered a visit from Bye, the Cats face Colorado in the final football game at Martin Stadium. The gem of a stadium with its intimate seating and spectacular sight lines was a special setting and arguably the best or one of the best lakeside stadia in college sports. (UW is in that conversation). Martin will continue to be the Field of Champions for WLAX and for women's pro soccer when NewRyan opens for business in two weeks. But for this week, raise a cup for Auld Lake Syne.

Speaking of times gone by, the Colorado game could be tagged the Barnett Bowl, with the school where Coach Gary Barnett had his greatest success with the 1995 and 1996 B1G champion squads facing the school that gave the dream job he was working for his entire career. NU is favored by a roughly a field goal and seems significantly stronger on defense. Colorado has offensive talent to spare. The matchups will be intriguing, especially when the Buffaloes have the ball.

Colorado did not impress me against Georgia Tech. I think we faced a much tougher FCS opponent in South Dakota State.

I rewatched our first game and the Colorado-GT game and I think there will be one of two outcomes. Either our lines will show improvement and we win this easily or our lines will struggle and we will see a frustrating grinding loss. Our history says a frustrating grind against a team that already had a road win but I’m going to believe in our offense and defense.

Do we know anything about that?
Not sure I know anything, but Braun's comment when asked about Carsello and Eligon was something like the coaches want to be cautious so these 2 are ready for the B1G season. So IFF they are ready, I think it's silly to hold them out of a possible win so we can get crushed by Indy.
