The next two games should be wins, facing St. John's on Saturday and Boston College next Tuesday....both at home. Of course, both of teams beat us last year, but this isn't last year.

Have you looked at the six games that follow BC next Tuesday? Wowzers!

Sat, Feb 9 @ Virginia
Tues, Feb 12 @ Louisville
Sat, Feb 16 vs. NC State
Wed, Feb 20 vs. UNC
Sat, Feb 23 @ Syracuse
Tues, Feb 26 @ Virginia Tech

That's....really, really hard on paper. The past few years I would say, "oh, I'd take 4-2 out of that stretch in a heartbeat, or 5-1 would be like stealing." Something feels different this season. I know we're capable of losing any of those, but it's almost as if I don't expect this group to lose. It's a bit of an odd feeling.

That's brutal, and the easy "sunshine pumping, homer " answer it to say I'm not worried and I think we win them all, but I really think that we will go 6-0, 5-1 at worst through that stretch.
Maybe I'm wrong, but at the end of this season. I can't imagine any other team has played a schedule as tough as ours

Past years i would take 4 and 2 and be very happy but this year and this team feels different . I almost get the sense that we are done losing this year

That is definitely a nightmare 6 game stretch for anybody, especially with 4 of them on the road.
Believe it or not, my biggest concern is that we come out of this stretch with no serious injuries. These are the games this team lives for.
Go Duke!

Crazy tough stretch, but I cannot wait to watch these games. I have been waiting for them all season long. This team rises to the occasion like no other in recent memory. K will have them ready. Let's just sweep them all prove to the doubters that Duke is THE dominant team in the country!!

Here are the percentages according to ESPN and Bart Torvik

ESPN's BPI:
@ UVA: 22.8%
@ Louisville: 69.9%
vs NC State: 92.7%
vs UNC: 78.7%
@ Syracuse: 78.4%
@ Virginia Tech: 54.9%

Bart Torvik:
@ UVA: 24%
@ Louisville: 67%
vs NC State: 92%
vs UNC: 83%
@ Syracuse: 79%
@ Virginia Tech: 62%

Torvik seems to like us a little better, but man, what is up with the UVA game? I don't doubt that we'd be the underdogs in Charlottesville, but less than a 25% chance? I like our chances with Tre Jones clamping down on defense... that, and just straight going iso with the two best players in college basketball. All in all, I think I'd be content going 5-1 during this stretch.

That stretch sure as heck gives Duke more opportunities to solidify their #1 seed argument, or even the overall #1 seed.

lol yes, that post reminds me of the fact that UNC got a 2 seed last year with 10 losses (#5 on the s curve). Apparently losses are okay, just remember to beat the elite teams.

I think and hope that we win all of those games but the one I want to see us win is @Virginia because that will put us in good position to wi the ACC regular season for the fist time in 9 years plus it will reaffirm just how good Duke is if they sweep Virginia in the regular season.

Nope. The answer is UNC. Beating them is wayyyy sweeter than meaningless regular season "championships." I know some here might disagree, but not going to convince me otherwise.

I realllly want to beat both. If I had to pick one...it'd be UNC but, a UVA sweep would be so sweet resume wise. Though if we get our way we'll just go 11-0 the rest of the season, win the ACCT and then go and get #6.

This year is more important to beat uva not only for the acc title but for the number 1 seed in the east and DC. Dont get me wrong i want to beat unc which i think we will especially after losing 2 of 3 last year

We've had so much frustration over the last few seasons, that I hope we steamroll everyone left on our schedule. The rematch with uva will probably be a maalox masher.
I know we are a far superior team to the holes, and I bet most tar hole fans would take a split right now if they could. I want to beat them like a rented drum. Still mad they beat us 2 out of 3 last season. I'll give Sky's left testicle to wear their a**e* out.

We have a team this season that so far has wanted it as bad as we do.

Obviously I hope and want us to beat UNC but like I said, the reason that I want us to beat Virginia is because it’ll mean we swept them and that will likely mean that we win the regular season for the first time in 9 years which will give us the one seed in the ACCT and will also likely lock up a one seed in the NCAAT.

That uva game makes no sense at all. We beat up on them without our most important player. They just went to OT with state and should have lost. They are not some mythical juggernaut.

Coach will have everyone’s attention during that stretch! I think we, due to our youth, take some teams for granted. With that schedule, there will be NO team we should look over. This team is on a mission!

Not gonna lie, having the #1 in DC would be nice. That means I could be front and center!

That game @ uva is our second best chance of getting blown out since ‘95

o_O

IDK. Having Tre back, and a healthy for sure Cam might change that. Because, you know, neither of those things was known in the day s leading up to the UVA game.
.
Because, Tre is a for sure OAD, so his presence might be important. Ditto Cam. We knew Tre wouldn't play, and we didn't know how healthy Cam was, so that game was a huge unknow. I sure hope you people aren't risking karma with these cute digs, many of which conveniently pick and choose which parts of my posts to present.

That is a tough as hell run of games. Individually, I believe we win all these games, but collectively I would be tickled pink to be 5-1, and still pleased to be 4-2. Of course, losing to UNC at Cameron is just not an option. GTHC, GTH!!!

No, you don't need help, Topps. We old guys know stuff happens. It's hard for me to take any game for granted either. If we lose one of those games at home against either St. Johns or BC (and it could happen), then every game going forward gains additional meaning.

That stetch is really gonna test us. I believe this team will rise and become better. OFC

Definitely a tough and interesting stretch as 4 of those games could/are the most important game to win. Virginia and UNC are obvious but if we lose @ UVA, @Louisville is a must win to avoid back to back losses. Also, that game @VT may end up determining if we are a top 2 seed going into the ACC Tourney, and would be a major roadblock to get back on strong win streak if we assume that we win all home games and win @Syracuse going into the close out of our regular season.

We should win the 5 not against Va. But, even with a 90% win chance for each game, the odds of winning all 5 would be 59%. I like us in all 6. I think we take UVA. Odds of winning all 6 really steep. I say, screw the odds.

I AGREE! However curious of YOUR take about "but this isnt last season" and likewise "Something feels different this season." Is it INTANGIBLES other teams didnt have, sheer talent, etc???? Thanks...
