The trenches get deeper!! It is exciting to think about the depth that is being built on the LOS. Go Cats!!

Plus the depth at DB, LB, RB, WR, TE, etc. - Across the board!!

I'm glad we are actually able to RS more players now. That's the only way you are going to build quality depth, granted there are some guys who need to be on the field ASAP, but I love that we are actually RS more players now. We are finally building for the future, not play anybody on the roster just to keep our heads above water.

That means we have only had to play 5 true freshman this year.

Benny Snell, Landon Young, Kash Daniel, TJ Carter, and Jordan Griffin. And considering the limited playing time, we probably could/should have redshirted Kash, TJ, and Jordan.

Plus a punter.

Quality of RSs available, the near-certain bowl trip this year and large number returning players should have the pre-season mags and talking heads buzzing about UK next year.

Our schedule is a bit odd next year. The optimist would say with Florida, UT, and UofL at home that makes those games more winnable. But then we have So. Miss, USC, Miss State, and Georgia on the road which makes those games more difficult.

I am excited about next year though. Provided we finish the year strong I think there is a lot to be excited about.

Really excited to see how Bannerman, Walder, and Watson grow and develop. I love long / athletic linebackers and those three plus Bonner are going to be 6'4 - 6'6 and 250+ by the time they leave.

AJ Rose is going to be a stud and I think he comes in next fall camp at 6'1 225.

Gilliam is going to fill in nicely for Blake McClain. Hard hitter with good instincts.

Very happy Devonte Robinson was able to redshirt. May have the highest ceiling of any of our secondary players.

You have to be happy when you see Jackson, Leavitt, Looney, and Cross redshirted. Years past 3 out of the 4 would have played significant snaps as a true freshman. Bodes well for the future.

GOCATS!!!!!!

Good lord! That lick of guys RS this year has me pumped for next year! That is some quality depth right there!

No doubt. That's a place that we can have even more improvement as a program. Next year we'll have lots of seniors, but most will be 4 year guys. In a few years we'll hopefully still have lots of seniors through solid recruiting per class, several of which will be 5th year guys.

Even more experience, which can never hurt when the SEC as a whole will still be slightly more talented than us.

Jamar Watson? Wonder if he's any relation to Randy Watson, the Frontman for Sexual Chocolate?

The pundits will be buzzing about Kentucky next year because we will return 19 starters and both kickers. That is a formula for a big bowl season. I agree the list of redshirting players is very impressive. But very few jobs will be open. Because of our deep, talented, experienced returning roster, Leavitt, Jackson, Hoak, Rose, Looney, Walder, Bannerman, Robinson look like the only redshirts who might factor in the rotations in September. None of them will start unless Barker doesn't recover physically and Hoak beats out Johnson. Although Jackson has a big future, Bunchy Stallings is being groomed now for Jon Toth's starting job. I think Hughes and Rigg will have significant roles a year from now, but probably not in September.

Yes - it will be the deepest, most experienced and most talented team in 2017 that he Cats have had in many, many years.

That's a pretty nice group of redshirts !

Most years half those guys would HAVE to play .

It is a nice list to look at and it does make our future look better than at the start of this season. Like others have said, in the past, most of those guys would be on the field getting their confidence beat out of them. Its a huge change when we can bring those guys in when they are at least ready to compete. Some of those kids have a bright future ahead of them. If we get to redshirt talent like this every recruiting class, it will make a difference. Depth is one of the most important factors in becoming a legit football program. We have never had depth. Its crazy to think that most years the teams we face are 3 deep and some of those teams have some players on the bench more talented than our starter. The next few years that won't be the case anymore. Stoops has built a great foundation and even if he's not coaching the team, he will be a huge part turning Kentucky football into a legit program.

For DL and Jack, I like the replacement of Miggins and Hyde with Looney, Cross and Bannerman.

Feel like that is more in than out for our rotation.

Don't expect much from any of them next year, just speaking in terms of quality depth.
