The timing of the announcement gives it away. If he was going to play they wouldn’t announce anything or would just say it’s a game time decision. Being that Coach K will make an official statement, I’m sure that means it’s a no go

Exactly, I think the timing of this gives it away for sure. He will get plenty of rest and Duke will smash these fools come ACC time.

It’s not specifically scheduled for a Zion announcement. It’s a regularly scheduled press conf where K will update Zions status. Pretty big difference. I look at it as no different then a post game conf in which he updates.

I’m not sure Duke knows if he’s a go or not yet. I suspect K to tell ya how great he’s coming along, and make it a game time descion.

This was on his Dukes podcast the other night. Don't get your hopes up for him to play against the Cheats. Makes no sense to play him in that game when he can continue to workout, practice, and get a few more days off before their semi-final game in the ACC Tournament.
You mean the 5pointplaypodcast right?

The fact that K has been saying literally anything about Zion's injury is such a shift from the norm as it is.

I don't like the comparison to the Irving situation. When Zion returns, he will have missed 5-6 games after already playing in 24 games. That is hardly comparable to Irving who played 8 games, mostly against inferior competition before missing the rest of the regular season. That Duke team played the entire conference schedule without him and basically developed their own identity in his absence.

This year's team will have no issues readjusting with him in the lineup. The only concern is, will Zion be in condition to pick up where he left off. Which I have no doubt that he will be.

im pretty sure they know if he’s playing or not. I don’t see it being a “ game time decision” with this . If it’s a “game time decision” he ain’t playing in this (kinda) meaningless game. It’s a rivalry and people are thinking 1 seed in the NCAA, but yea if its that close of a decision with a knee he won’t play. Imo

Coach need to stop playing with our emotions. He practiced with no contact since the day of Wakes game, and will do it again today. Plus he needs to get conditioned, according to K, but he is doubtful for tomorrow and it will be announced then. I must be missing something lol. If he hasn’t had contact, not in condition, how is all that going to change before the game tomorrow night? Just say he’s out already lol.

That’s the best energy I’ve seen from K since the injury. I said after the injury he didn’t look right in the press conference.I would t be surprised to see Zion play tomorrow watching that clip.

My best guess is because he hasn’t seen him today. He sees him this afternoon, he feels good from yesterday and he moves well maybe just maybe we see him play..either way K looked more energized than I’ve seen him since this happend.

Watching that clip reeks of he’s getting close, but not there yet, so therefore, we will hold him out tomorrow due to no contact and not in condition. We will tell everybody he’s out officially tomorrow lol.

If we're still playing this "he isn't ready for contact" stuff next week I'm going to be really annoyed. Sorry just frustrated.

But he said he will have no contact today either, and you basically need that to be confident. I can’t see him testing that in a rivalry game instead of practice.
