I don't know why Moogy chose to use the Barry vs PSU BOT threads to become so agitative, but he did. 🤷‍♀️

Moogy is a real person....yes, sad and pathetic, but still a real person.

What do we know about Moogy?

I know almost everything.

That’s it? The level of insults in this thread made me feel like it was 1980 and I was transported back to middle school. Juvenile, but entertaining.

OK, so maybe entertaining isn’t the right word. But I am a little surprised it never devolved into anything more than sophomoric name calling.
Joebots aren’t programmed to be interesting or entertaining.

ah..... i was wondering who was causing all this stir, then saw it was Moogy....

there's a reason i blocked that 🤡 . The vast majority here see the value in standing up to the board cronies, except moogy. and when confronted about why it feels REALLY personal for him, he responds with ad hominems and attacks. trust me, you're all better off to put him on ignore

Re the bolded ... false. Why do you have to fall back on fake news to justify your thoughts and actions? I'm fine hanging out here in reality .. why aren't you?

I finally did the same. I really, really hate to block people. Disagreements are fine--even pointed ones. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But when it gets to be crude personal attacks, I draw the line there.

There was no personal attack, let alone a crude one. I asked you, politely, to point out the alleged insult of which you accused me of presenting, and you refused. I'm quite content in the fact that I acted appropriately here ... can you say the same?

The simple reality is many of you all are completely ignoring the point that PSU suffers from a funding problem - which is primarily the fault of the Governor and the state legislature - and many of you have decided to ignore that ACTUAL source of the problem, so you can create a fake source of said problem, and direct your anger at another target, while you concoct all sorts of grievances to justify why you're really angry at that target - according to you, they didn't protect your pseudo-deity enough. And the only thing that will stop your irrational hatred toward them, is to bend the knee and pray to said deity. Unfortunately, even if they did this, it wouldn't solve any of the actual problems you're wrongfully laying at their feet. But that's beside the point, for many of you. Meanwhile, your actions and retributions are AGAIN only hurting the kids. And that's, obviously, messed up.

State government has a lot of financial mouths to feed. Why should the legislature and governor direct more money to PSU (and away from, for example, health care and roads) when Penn State has a track record of wasting enormous sums of money (for example, by building a new art museum that will never break even, by paying millions to non-vetted Sandusky victims, by overpaying for construction projects, by not asking the Big 10 to refund unjustly confiscated bowl revenue, and by giving Barron a seven figure "consulting contract," etc.)?

Other state governments figure it out. If you don't want to be comparative, stop comparing. You can't cry that PSU is more expensive than, or not academically up to par with, State U X or Y, when State U X or Y has received so much more state funding over the last 2 decades plus. Most of your alleged examples of waste are just typical "angry old dad" whines (they're always complaining everything is too expensive) or just post hoc rationalizations of a pre-existing vendetta against the BoT. This whining begs the question ... if the BoT and/or university as a whole is so incredibly wasteful, and they're receiving virtually no state funding, how the hell are we even doing this well? Someone somewhere must be doing something so incredibly well to benefit the university that they make up for much of the spending/funding chasm you guys have post hoc created in your minds.
