Tagen is better at cutting and it’s honestly impressive.

What’s your opinion on the “size” discussion?
Tagen can/will do well at either weight next year. He's done so well being disciplined with his weight this year that he's gotten down a little lower than he should imo. There are things affecting him that going 149 may fix or maybe not. He's so damn strong I'd love to see him get super aggressive. Will length affect him next year? He wont be as long as most other guys for sure and I think most of us agree length helps. I also know longer guys make him cautious.

Carter doesnt pull much and maybe one more year of lifting his *** off and getting stronger puts him over the hump? Idk. But I hope so. I keep hearing things that everyone thinks Carter is so close to jumping levels. Great kid and family but that's not enough.

The truth about 133 imo? Reece and Rin are the only disciplined guys we have. Period. Take it as you will.

Do you think Rin can be successful at 133? I’ve heard a lot of people say he’s pretty small and is ideally a 125.

I mean if he really wants to be successful he'll add some size. Just depends on his freestyle aspirations. He's crazy athletic and fast. I thought Ayala just really put him in some tough folk style positions but you could see the potential.

It would definitely be him going up to 133 and not spratley? Haven’t seen them side by side, and maybe it was bc seeing him against a 133, but I’m can’t tell between him and spratley, who is bigger.

I think he's so strong, a move to 49 would really help remove those things that are affecting him and he wouldn't lose a strength advantage to any guy at that weight.

The length does cause pause if that's best for him? I am glad the staff knows better than we do in this instance. 49 loses 4 of the top 8 and 5 of the top 10 next year...so that will probably go into consideration.

Carter has a long way to go but an influx of strength would probably help his finish rate. Or, he can go down and battle for the spot at 41 if Tagen vacates it for 49?

The rest of your post, yeah, those are what they are and probably just need to stop worrying about it as internet fans? I don't think it's really beneficial when people try and read between the lines on what is happening or isn't happening. Just my opinion, this wasn't directed at you in any way.

I would think if it comes to both of them wanting 125 it would be dependent on who is winning in the room. If Rin is beating Spratley at 125 then woo boy am I excited haha.

For sure. This board dose a pretty good job of avoiding that type of stuff. I’m part of the “has young peaked” and “Doucet is boring” but that’s about as bad as I feel like it really gets. Emotions can get the best of us though sometimes.
It was directed at you.

It wasn't directed at anybody. Just kind of a general statement stating we probably need to avoid this topic since it is painfully obvious the staff has refused to speak about it publicly.

Curious why he's said he wouldn't come to Stillwater?
I don’t think it’s been literally said he won’t come. I think most assume he just isn’t a package deal like 90% of wrestling families are.

I would like to see him go to ASU, Stanford or Oregon State honestly. Keep some talent on the west coast for the few teams left out there.

Do wonder if Ono, Blaze, being there for next 4 years, along with Davis for next few years make them not place for Raneys anymore.

So, Ono is a done deal to PSU? On FRL, they said him enrolling at PSU was necessary for him to practice there. I must have missed the official announcement

I think it would be nice if there was a place (such as here) that we could keep a running total of our Highschool Signees (by year ) and Portal Transfers for next year. A scoreboard as such.

Maybe one that is not completely full of discussion. I don't know, maybe that's too much to ask but I thought I'd try.

I would also like to know if we have had any other Portal Transfers besides Wyatt/Dean/Cam/Caleb

Thank you for doing this! Could we go back and get the rankings of every Cowboy on the roster? Seems like we have a ton of former Top-10 overall recruits on the roster.

I think research has shown that the majority of individual national championships are won by Top-10 to Top-20 overall recruits with some outliers every year. If we can continue to stack these level of recruits the results will come. Fast.

He lost in the OK state finals in 2018 to Caleb Tanner of Collinsville. Moved to TX and graduated from Plano West in 2021. Grey shirted with Gopher Wrestling Club in 2021-22. Redshirted at Minnesota in 2022-23 and has been the OSU starter the last two years.
