They beat NU out for that power forward/center a few years ago...Samir Sehic...and then he transferred.

They've had a fair amount of transfers.

I wonder if any segment of their fan base is as worked up about their transfers as ours.

Put this together as I was looking at it and sent to a friend, so thought I'd post it here too...

-Big Ten received no commits from the top 21 (best recruit per Rivals is a guy at 22 going to Maryland)

-Despite no one in the top 21, the Big Ten has 31 commits in the top 150

-The breakout by team is below. Based on just these rankings, I have ranked them in what I think the order is for this class just based on Rivals rankings (this is not based on eyeball test, other sources, etc.):

Maryland- 4 Top 150 Recruits, 3 Top 100 (#22, #39, #72, #128)
Michigan State- 3 Top 150 Recruits, All 3 Top 100 (#58, #62, #97)
Michigan- 3 Top 150 Recruits, All 3 Top 100 (#57, #85, #93)
Indiana- 4 Top 150 Recruits, 2 Top 100 (#49, #99, #114, #127)
Illinois- 3 Top 150 Recruits, 2 Top 100 (#28, #82, #149)
Northwestern- 3 Top 150 Recruits, 2 Top 100 (#63, #64, #133)
Ohio State- 3 Top 150 Recruits, 2 Top 100 (#67, #75, #142)
Iowa- 1 Top 100 Recruit (#41)
Minnesota- 1 Top 100 Recruit (#56)
Purdue- 2 Top 150 Recruits, 0 Top 100 (#117, #124)
Rutgers- 2 Top 150 Recruits, 0 Top 100 (#104, #132)
Penn State- 1 Top 150 Recruit (#140)
Nebraska- 0 Top 150 Recruits

Not confining myself to just Rivals ratings, you could take all the classes from MSU to OSU and rerank them any which way you wanted to. They are that close.

Boy how Wisky has fallen. What is going on there? They were in the championship game not long ago.

Wisky should be a pretty decent team next year. Happ will be back, and his supporting cast was playing considerably better toward the end of last season.

Pat Baldwin Jr., destiny awaits.

At coaching? Or just recruiting?

I'd say both.

His recruiting has been documented on this thread, but in regards to the W/L side of the equation, Drew has (in six seasons) three NCAA appearances and two NIT bids (one in which Valpo won 26 games prior to the postseason) to his credit.

Yes, the 2017-18 season certainly did not earn high marks, but that resume would support anyone's claim that Bryce can coach.

They better because their recruiting class looks relatively weak. One guy has a couple other BIG offers and one has a Xavier offer but other than that all offers are MAC level

Curry was a Michigan commit early in his sophomore year until he reclassified to senior this year, and when he did Michigan no longer had a scholarship open so he verbaled to Wisky. I watched him play several times in person and I'm not convinced he'll succeed in the Big Ten, but then again, Beilein has a pretty good eye.

His teammate Foster Loyer is going to Michigan State and is 5'9" with nothing athletically outstanding about him, but he's a great shooter and savvy finisher, and his mind for the game is incredible. It's like having IBM Watson on the floor. (His dad's an NBA scout, so no surprise.)

Well, didn't see that. He'd better work on his shooting if he's going pro.
He's testing the waters again, will not hire an agent. My bet is he returns for his final season at Bucky.

"Just as he said he’d do when his junior season with the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team ended last month, center Ethan Happ announced Tuesday that he will declare for the 2018 NBA draft.

But Happ will not hire an agent, leaving open his option of returning for his senior campaign with the Badgers next season."

Just as FYI Michigan also has a 5 star commit from Iggy Brazdeikis, but since he's from Canada Rivals doesn't give him a rank in the top 150 which is for US based players only. They just call him 5 stars. Realistically there are 29 other 5 star players so he probably rates between about 20th and 30th in the class per Rivals.
