I was just told that Seton Hall is opening at least one section, but only for Seton Hall students. This saga gets stranger.

Their AD turned his back on much needed revenues for their athletic department

Disappointing.

If they start selling upper level tickets a month ago it would have easily been worth it and profitable for them .

They could still open up 4 sections on each side of center court in the 100 level at $50 a pop and they would all sell by game time.

From article I read today

When Seton Hall’s schedule was finalized in the early fall, tickets for all games went up for public sale except one — the Rutgers game. For that one, tickets were sold internally only (to alumni and those with close ties to the school) until the past couple of weeks, when some became available on the secondary market.

just wanna keep RU fans out of the rock

Has to kill them that they beat No. 7 Texas last night and the Ledger was filled with articles of RU’s upset of No. 1 Purdue! I think they mentioned the Halls win on page 7. 😜
You mean like the this…

If both schools want a true event every year, let the game happen every year at Prudential Center and sell 50/50 tickets and open up the entire arena......some rivalry border games have done this in recent years or years past.

Illinois vs Missouri was be played in St Louis

Kentucky vs Indiana was in Indianapolis.

The harsh reality is SHU juices the RU game, Nova game and now the UConn games for all that it's worth. They make some money off of these 3 games and I assume they did well with Texas as a name-brand opponent last night.

At the end of the day, I am not terribly concerned about the gate situation at Prudential, there are relatively good seats in the lower bowl.....

But it is really not the RAC.....the RAC is the building that rocks and rolls....I can wait until next year for the home return. If RU fans have extras for Sunday night, I will definitely find a home for them....it is probably going to be another fun night.

Let’s be honest. Do you think RU would add 2000 seats to the RAC’s normal capacity with the option for Seton Hall fans to buy up a ton of the tickets if that was possible? It’s a rivalry game!
Yes. Absolutely. It would still be overwhelmingly RU fans.

That's why SHU are such p*ssies. They know they will lose their home court advantage.

Oh boo hoo! It's a rivalry game. This is part of it. These kinds of slights make it that much more intense.

Every single poster would want Rutgers to do the same thing SHU is doing. People would want Hobbs head if he chose revenue over having a home court.

I dunno if we had 10,000 additional seats to open up and let our own students sit up there I would at least extend the same offer to the opposing teams student body.

SHU should minimally open a section up for Rutgers students but they won’t.
Both schools used to do that every year and the visitors would send a couple busses of students up until Rutgers decided to end it 2 years ago and block SHU fans out instead. This is just SHU returning the favor. I agree, I would like to see it get back to how it used to be.

I could be wrong, but it seems like SHU has been trying way harder to control the tickets to this game and had a harder time selling out vs. at Rutgers 2 years ago. Obviously different situations with the arena size.

I would be fine with giving SHU students a small section in the 300 level.

It’s definitely something that needs to be worked out because it makes the rivalry better.

Two years ago , SHU had a decent student contingent in the 300 level at The RAC
