Should be 1-0, Pulisic missed a golden opportunity. Overall, we've looked pretty good. Would prefer Horvath in goal, though. Steffen had a gaffe in distribution that could've been costly.

But they still have a home match with us. I want nothing to do with needing a result in San Jose to avoid the playoff.

Big point. Really could have and should have won the game, but I’ll take it.
Panama is must win. I agree we had solid chances musah the layoff to pefok by Reyna. Did you see Reyna he has a look like he ll never pass to pefok again. And of course that blown opportunity by pulisic. The bottom line is now we must beat Panama bc winning in San Jose next week is gonna be very difficult. Canada still has to go to Panama. It becomes a nightmare if we don’t win Saturday. Win Saturday and it looks like USA can do no worse than the play in game

We were faster but wore out in 2H with the 7200' altitude. Were lucky to hang on last 15-20 minutes. We can't ever make easy shots. Blew two.

So US first match will be the Pot 4 team in 4th position correct?

World Cup draw happening right now.
Where will the USA end up?

I was just reading about his on a Yahoo Sports article yesterday. Unfortunately, I can't find it to link it. But, here's what I got out of it.

PLEASE, CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG

There are 4 divisions......called "pots". Each "pot" is decided based off FIFA World Rankings

-Pot 1 - These are all the 8 favorites....and Qatar for being the host. England, Brazil, France, etc. They will be divided up.....with one team being in each of the 8 groups.

-Pot 2 - These are considered the next set of contenders......US, Germany, Mexico, etc. They too will be divided among each group.

-Same for Pots 3-4.

Now, some assumptions for the US
1. I don't know how FIFA makes their decisions. Is it purely off the rankings? Sooo, do they just plug the #15th ranked team into the #15 hole?.....or do they consider story lines? For example, UK in basketball was stacked up right next to Murray St.....obviously not a coincidence. Sooo, would FIFA put the US in with England, France, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia?

2. No more than 1 world division can be in each group. So, the US can't be the same division as Canada because they're both in the same confederation. Because of this, since there are numerous European nations in Pots 1 and 2, this increases the likelihood that the US has a European Pot 1 team......Belgium, France, England, Portugal, Spain.

3. If we draw a European team from pot 1, then that means we'll likely draw AFC and CAF from pots 3 and 4.

Group A, seems to be the lightest of the 8

But cant complain about US positioning.

Not sure I see another group I would rather be in.

And 2 World Cups in a row without Italy?
That is like UK not making the NCAA tourney.
