I am just posting this as a general opinion, and I have no inside knowledge or anything. Just my opinion. For Malaysia Fulwiley Dawn Staley started recruiting her when she was in the 7th grade. So, it was an all in recruitment for Dawn as she saw the incredible athlete that she was. Dawn also had an incredible relationship with her parents. Everyone knew how Dawn ran things at USC so it should not have been a surprise to anyone on how Dawn ran her program. Of course, during this period of time NIL and the transfer portal came into play. All the players, coaches, staff were on the same page on the direction the program was in. So needless to say, at times Dawn let Malaysia run her Hollywood show and she put up with it to a degree. Then at other times it was getting to a point to where Malaysia was hurting the team with turnovers, making bad shots and rarely hitting a 3-point shot. So, for the team's sake Dawn had to sit her because she was hurting the team. Look at the national championship game she made turnover after turnover and making bad decisions. Dawn had no choice but to sit her. At the end like a lot of 18–22-year kids people get in their ears about taking the bag with more money. Read on several sites that some of her close people were getting in her ear. Also heard she did not want to go into the portal, but she was encouraged to by some of the people close to her. Also saw on one site where she was in a relationship with a track athlete. Not sure about that. What I saw. These are just my general viewpoints. I hate it but like the football coach at Tennessee said no one player is above the team. I agree with that statement, and I wish only the best for Malaysia and for USC women's basketball program.

She had that one bad game to my memory, and I think that was affected by the relationship with Dawn already in play.

After our opening game in 2024 football this very board was littered with the word ‘bust’ describing LaNorris Sellers.

I’ll take Fulwiley over at least two of the current players.

I’ll say this…take away Cardoso from last season and we don’t get a trophy. If we don’t replace her with an equal, we won’t be getting another anytime soon.

Without Cardoso we played for the title…I would say we are close.
In spite of four losses and having our absolute asses handed to us in two of those.

My point was posters are fixated on ‘championships’ (typical gamecock entitlement), and all the shade since losing the championship has been thrown at Fulwiley; correct me if I’m wrong.

Get another Cardoso that you can just lob the ball over everyone for easy points, or ‘close’ is all we’re going to see. The team we had this year wasn’t all that great o’ shakes.

We did win an SEC Championship and got all the way to the Final Game. So, this past season was far from the disaster some are making it out to be. With that said, everyone has to take some accountability how that last game turned out. The last game was the most glaring for Fulwiley with regard to mistakes, but you saw the signs throughout the season. The heat check 30 footers (Come on, you shoot 25% out there). The unnecessary dribbling in traffic. Who can forget her playing with the ball against Maryland up three in the final seconds. Getting stripped and fouling. The refs saved us by saying that foul was on the floor. That easily could have been a shooting foul and an And1 to tie the game. So, it's not just one game. Go back and look at the Tennessee Game. The careless plays were constant. I could have lived with Milaysia starting for this year, but I can definitely understand Coach going out and getting someone that will play more solid.
