Expect us to get their bigs in foul trouble early, build a large lead and then play not to lose for the last 5-6 min. USF gets hot, for them, from 3 and TU wins by 14-16.

Thank goodness for Jeffries breaking the 0-8 shooting start. USF should have at least two more fouls at this point.
Igbanu needs to have his hands ready. Taplin hits him with a great pass, fumbles it, can’t hit the layup. Jackson makes a great drive and dish, off Igbanu’s hands for a TO.
Scott is crafty going to the basket. No flashy, not super quick, but he uses his body well to find just enough space to get off a shot.

ORUVoice(formerly) is the PA announcer today and doing a nice job. He just has a voice that naturally has more excitement in it than the other guys.
Wish we could convince athletics to give him the gig full-time.

Our defense is playing really well today. And USF is pretty terrible, especially the guards. There have been 3 or 4 possessions where we’ve trapped them and hey hasn’t gotten the ball within 30 feet of the basket until the shot clock hit 15 seconds. Really puts a lot of pressure when you’re trying to run a motion play and you’ve wasted half the shot clock just trying to get into position to run the play.

We were out rebounded for most of the half but took care of business the last 5 minutes to have a 4 board margin at half.
If we started 0-8, we finished 12-25 which is not that bad. And we’ve forced some turnovers.

That’s misleading about the start of the half since we couldn’t hit anything and USF had some turnovers so they didn’t miss as many shots. As they started missing we took care of business on the defensive side as well as nabbing a nice number of offensive rebounds.
The ball is moving well with the 2nd unit. Jackson actually sees the court well, we just haven’t been able to watch it enough because of the lack of minutes. Etou starting to find a rhythm.
Our trap looks like it’s even more aggressive today and extended just a bit further than we normally do. It has caused a lot of problems today.

I really enjoyed that win. Seems like more team basketball to me.
Well, we’re guaranteed to have better record than last year and not have a losing conference record even if the wheels fall off.
Maybe we should start referring to him as TUVoice!!!
He always does. He’s just got a natural energy that adds to the atmosphere of the game versus our regular PA guy who sounds bored with the job after so many years
