I'm curious how they have a soccer-specific stadium.I'm hoping Nashville grabs one of the 4 spots. It's one of the smallest markets out of the 12 candidates, but it does have it's bonuses.....like the stadium, fan support, and a USL club. But as of July 10th, it appears that Tampa, Phoenix, San Antonio, and Cincy are the front runners.

Supposedly they are going to use Nissan Stadium (home of the Titans). From reports, having a stadium in place already is a factor that's keeping Nashville higher on the list of the 12 candidates.
No. The city and the Ingram's (billionaire leaders of the new effort) have identified the fairgrounds as the site for a new, soccer specific stadium.
Oh, ok. Thanks.
It's not the majestic downtown location that some would want. However, it's free and is close enough to some of the neighborhoods that are being transformed. It's going to be a good spot. Easy access.
Last time I was there was for a Gun&Knife Show back in the '90's. Don't recall the area being that great, but haven't been back in a while. But, I've been all around it plenty of times......basketball camp at Lipscomb, recruitment trip to Father Ryan, tourney's at Franklin Road Academy, etc.
No. Bush is much lower than nipple.I hope we lay the woodshed to Costa Rica......and FIFA clamps down on El Salvador's nipple. That was some Bush League play last night.
No. Bush is much lower than nipple.
Dempsey is going to play the role in this World Cup that Landon should have played in the last World Cup.
Just like Arena's team's performance vs. El Salvador. It's time we stop doubting bruce arena. That was a comprehensive performance. Well done boys.
Would the serious followers of USMNT tell us casual followers who are the 100% locks to make the World Cup squad and which of the others are fighting for the remaining spots. Thanks!
Good list - some thoughts:
There are many others that may at least make camp. I agree it's our deepest pool ever, but I'd really like to see a lot of the youngsters make the roster. We have a ton of talent aged 16-24. I'd prefer to see some of them over a lot of our average players.
- I think one of Guzan/Howard won't be on the team. I think 2 of Horvath/Klinnsman/Gonzales/Hamid will make the roster
- I don't think Yedlin will make it, although I know he's made a lot of improvements.
- You left out Bedoya - I think he will make it
- Roldan is one of my surprise picks to make it
- Zardes is probably a lock although it pains me to say that
- I think Sargent makes it
- Other possibilities: Danny Williams, Lletget, Garza, Zimmerman (who I love), Manneh, Klijsten, Feilhaber, Bingham, Carter-Vickers, Gooch, Kitchen, Pontius, Julian Green, Zelalem, Rubin, Steffen, Flores
There are always surprises on WC rosters - heck Julian Green made the team 3 years ago and even scored. And Landon Donovan didn't even make the team. A lot can happen in the next year.
I would be shocked if Yedlin is anything short of a lock; I'm inclined to say the same thing of Kellyn Acosta as an 8 unless Weston McKennie vaults through at Schalke...but Acosta has already done something that Jermaine Jones never did, and that's look like a compliment to Michael Bradley.
I think some merit could be found for Kellyn Rowe instead of Arriola; of obvious interest is whether Fabian Johnson will be a LW or a LB. His positioning bleeds into the roster need of others, obviously with guys like Nagbe who was constantly breaking down the Costa Ricans through that left channel. For a country that has often been noted as being relatively high quality on set pieces, having a guy who gets fouled as much as Nagbe has value; flank Pulisic with somebody like that and there are some exciting possibilities there.
I'm in agreement a little on there being either Howard or Guzan, but not both; in fact I'd be surprised if it's Guzan.
I think Yedlin is our starter --- I actually have him as kind of a breakout guy this coming year in the premier league. His pace and power is something we just dont have enough of on our roster.
looking at the list my 23 would be:
Locks:
Wood
Bradley
Brooks
Cameron
Pulisic
Altidore
Fabian Johnson
Nagbe
Yedlin
Howard
Gonzales
Dempsey
Miazga
Jorge Vilfanaia
Arriolla
Accosta
Bedoya
Zusi
Lichaj
Zardes
Dwyer
Morris
Jermaine Jones
Starting Lineup:
Tim Howard
Yedlin-Cameron-Brooks-Villafana
Bradley - Acosta
Nagbe-Dempsey- Pulisic
Altidore
Or:
Howard
Yedlin-Cameron-Brooks-Villafana
Bradley - Acosta
Nagbe-Pulisic-Johnson
Altidore
I'll be shocked if Jones goes to Russia. We've played exceptionally well without him. I think he causes more harm than good at this point as he's not a guy who will accept a diminished role.
PS: I liked your copy/paste job off of my list. LOL.

I wasnt about to retype that bs... lol
I have 2 thoughts:
1) I don't think we could do pro/rel like premiere league, but I do think we could do something like how Mexico does...
2) The MLS will never have Pro/Rel. If you want Pro/Rel it has to be in place before the league inception and the league must be built from the bottom up. The better option for US soccer is to let the USL and NASL merge and create a tier 2 and tier 3 league and then start a tier 1 league off of the cities that are inevitably jilted by MLS. Eventually the lure of making more money outside the MLS structure will lure teams away and break the league.
