I'm thinking the Arkansas game will be the toughest one. That will be a game where Cal will focus and he won't let up.I’d run a couple iso drives for Oweh on the first couple of possessions. In the lineups with Jelavic and Kam, there won’t be much help and you might be able to set the tone. It’s simple and sensible. I’d also like to create some havoc defensively to force fast paste. If it’s a half court game, I can’t see it even being close (hope I’m wrong.) This is probably the hardest game left on the schedule in my mind — Barnes knows our recent record there and will want to make it ugly.
Arkansas is by far the better team, no doubt. Tennessee is actually a barely above average team — nothing spectacular. I expect them to have the revenge factor from the last few road upsets in TBA. As for Arkansas, I definitely don’t like our chances, but it’s an emotional type of game that can allow for tightness/unexpected things to happen. Neither Pope or Calipari want to lose that game.I'm thinking the Arkansas game will be the toughest one. That will be a game where Cal will focus and he won't let up.
I'm not sure Tennesee has the horses this year.
Yeathey gonna try and get us in foul trouble.......
Didn't think we'd win there last year without Butler and we did. Stranger things have happened.I'm actually looking forward to this game. Probably because we're not expected to win and if we do lose, it's not as bad, because we're supposed to.
But, if we win, it's huge for our resume.
This is the only good part of the situation we're in.
I can't remember but whoever shut Caleb Wilson down when we played the Tar Holes should guard Ament, Mo maybe? If he's in the doghouse then put Kam on him, Kam needs to play before Mo anyway.I think we can hold Ament in check
Gillespie might be a problem tho
I think Kam would be a good one to put on him and when Kam needs a blow, put Mo D in there.I can't remember but whoever shut Caleb Wilson down when we played the Tar Holes should guard Ament, Mo maybe? If he's in the doghouse then put Kam on him, Kam needs to play before Mo anyway.
It was Jelavic that kept Wilson in check .I think Kam would be a good one to put on him and when Kam needs a blow, put Mo D in there.
Call a timeout if you are down 5, even if it’s in the first minute. There lots of discussion about our slow starts.

Did you say we need bangers? Look no further, there is an answer:Physical teams have been trouble for us all season, and Barnes teams are always physical. Wouldn't get your hopes up. We have no bangers other than JQ and he's obviously out.
Ament is a different animal, he's more mobile, closer to a guard than a big, that's why I was thinking Kam would be the better option.I

Physical teams were an issue for us last year too, but, for whatever reason, we had Tennesee's number. We lost that number in the tournament though.Physical teams have been trouble for us all season, and Barnes teams are always physical. Wouldn't get your hopes up. We can guard? The thing is, it's not our defense that is killing us. We can guard them, it's our offense. We struggle to score in the first half against every power 4 team we play.
Alabama has a bad defense, but they locked us down. LSU is just not good, but for most of the first half, we could only score off broken plays and luck. Then, all the sudden, we woke up and dominated.
Can't do that today, have a plan, it's usually the same players and the same plan that eventually gets it in gear, so maybe we just start with those players and that plan from the beginning.
When we have made comebacks, it's our offense that does it. The defense ends up on it's heels when the offense can't score, once the offense gets going, every defensive possession isn’t as critical.
We have the 25th ranked defense according to KenPom. We're no Houston, but our defense is good enough to beat good teams as long as our offense isn't in the toilet. We can guard?
