Absolutely. Our chances just went from 1.4% to maybe 1.8%.Liking our chances in that Tennessee game more and more.

Likely another failed drug test; this guy was suspended last year. I'm thinking, it was a failed drug test that happened BEFORE the injury, but it came to light sometime in the last couple of days. Tennessee's hand was forced; they wouldn't dismiss a starter during Bama week unless they had no choice. It was likely a "fail another drug test and we have no choice but to release you" scenario.
I will be delighted to be proven wrong.WildcatofDoom, Who pi$$ed in your Post Toasties?
OLD STOLL FIELD GUY!
He was taken off the field on a stretcher
Likely had a screen while in hospital
Is it pot or something else he has his issues with? But another question is, was his injury serious or was the stretcher a precaution? I really hope it was just a precaution, a kid suffered a spinal cord injury in one of our games last year. Its a sickening feeling to see something like that happen. But as soon as I seen it I knew he was in trouble because he hit with the very top of his helmet trying to block our 170lb kicker, just a mistake he will pay for the rest of his life.
So, this had to be something that was pretty bad, or he had to be a repeat offender. Guys don't get kicked off of teams for their first transgression unless it is something pretty bad.
So, excuse my skepticism, but is it a convenience suspension because he can't play anyway------decades of TU's tricks make me like this, but jurich is gaining fast.
He tweeted he was ok
It's a very violent game
The university says they will pay for all medical treatment needed but he us out
I think it was more serious than pot but that is 100% guess
Yes its a violent game and glad he is going to be ok,
But on the other issue, I never did any kind of drugs other than drinking because my daddy would have beaten me half to death when I was growing up, it would have been unacceptable behavior in my house, even the alcohol would have been. My Dad hit the beaches on D day, and the day never come that I felt like it was a good idea to tell him I was grown and do damn well as I pleased
But many of these kids, on my team, your team and everyone else's team didn't grow up with it be unacceptable behavior or even 2 parents in the house. They grow up seeing their family members, neighbors and everyone around them using pot, crack, meth or anything else out in the open and its just accepted as being ok. It's not good by any stretch and you have to do something because you can't ignore it. But its disheartening at how many of these kids on all of our teams throw away the chance to get a life changing education for that short term feeling whatever their drug of choice is. Sorry, after teaching and coaching for over 30 years just seen it happen way too many times over the years.
Jauk, if it came out that UT was allowing this player to stay on the team after repeated violations, you would be the first to condemn the coaches. You can't have it both ways. So, excuse my skepticism, but is it a convenience suspension because he can't play anyway------decades of TU's tricks make me like this, but jurich is gaining fast.
BUT...they did manage just today to get charges dropped against one Alexis Johnson, #1 JUCO DT, who happened to get sexual assault/false imprisonment charges leveled against him last winter in his first month on campus. Amazingly Johnson was able to secure the services of probably the top defense attorney in Knoxville, a UT grad of course, a matter of hours after his arrest even though it generally takes days or weeks to hire this guy for most people.
So to review...they have a DT get hurt, carry him off the field and kick him off the team. Then they manage to replace him with the #1 JUCO DT in the land...all just a few days before Bama comes to town. Boy, that was close!
Ever hear of being facetious?WildcatofDoom, Who pi$$ed in your Post Toasties?

So you don't believe in innocent until proven guilty or r the American judicial system
Color me not surprised
So where's the justice for the junkie you just kicked off? Of course, he probably was done anyway. Don't need him anymore, throw him away.
Color me not surprised.

I certainly don't know the ins and outs of HIPPA, someone in the know tell me,, how is it ok for the hospital to release info on what's in a patients system to anyone without the patients ok. I know the police can get the info if the individual is suspected of a crime but this kid was suspected of nothing. just wondering.
I think he does just not in Knoxville![]()
There have been more cover ups in Knoxville than in the Clinton house....I think you all may be missing the point here. Did Danny O'Brian possibly just take one for the team? Gets taken to hospital in Texas and something illegal shows up in blood tests. Jones is informed of findings and either is FORCED to dismiss his senior lineman or risk the information on WHAT was found in the blood test leaking to media. May have taken the action to protect himself AND UT program......thus Danny took one for the team and accepted responsibility for the illegal substance so that the FB program could not be implicated in the use of said substance. Thus UT agrees to pay for any needed medical treatment going forward even though he has been dismissed from the team. Hope the young man is physically OK.

Now Hillary was just quoting Lincoln,Jesus,Bear Bryant and the Pope when she told most of her lies,so don't blame her.I am their biggest critic but come on man.
He was done playing so they can make an example out of him...had it been Dobbs, Hurd, Barnett or a few others he would still be playing...If Jones loses to Bama their season has been a bust..For 4 years down here we have heard them talk that this is the year to win it all....They have won 4 games on sheer luck....almost lucked out last week...If they lose to Bama but somehow make the SEC championship game and lose to Bama again and then lose to someone like Louisville in the Sugar bowl....the season has been a disaster...they lose basically this whole team and recruiting has been solid but not championship caliber the last two years...if next year they fall back to a 7-8 win team ole Butch is toast.

well, serious question, how did jones or UT find out there was a problem with drugs in his system? I just don't understand how HIPPA allows access to his records!Ever heard of hippa?
No one is ever forced to disclose medical records
At least try to flame
