See the link below. From the article:

Texas men's basketball coach Chris Beard was arrested Monday morning on a felony domestic violence charge.

Beard, 49, is currently going through the booking process at the Travis County jail, according to Kristen Dark, senior public information officer for Travis County Sheriff's Office.

"He is in our custody," Dark told ESPN. "I can confirm he is the person who is in our booking process."

Beard was arrested by police in Austin, Texas, and has been booked on a third-degree charge of "assault of a family/household member, impede breath circulation," or strangulation.

Austin police told ESPN they received a "disturbance hotshot" call, and officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Vista Lane shortly after midnight Monday. The Austin Police Department's website defines a "hotshot" call as "incidents which are in progress are an immediate threat to life and/or public safety. ... These calls are dispatched immediately."

Said the school in a statement: "The University is aware of the situation regarding Chris Beard. We are continuing to gather information and monitoring the legal process."”

SHREWS. o_O to Austin.

Bob, someone has to say it. I'm sure it's all just a misunderstanding. In addition, he's a nice guy and deserves a second chance.

Not defending this guy at all, it is never okay to put your hands on a woman unless you are truly defending yourself from a violent attack, but this sounds like a really volatile relationship. Best these two never tie the knot. Breaking his glasses, while not violent by itself, certainly has the potential to ratchet things up. The fact that he took 15 minutes to "cool down" then decided to go into her room and assault her is crazy. Texas really needs to part with this guy and he and this woman should certainly call off their wedding and split up.

Unless there is more. But if he waited 15 minutes and nothing happened physically and his reasoning and common sense and education came to the conclusion of choking her out which outweighed his life and his career, then he is whacked and should be locked up for a long time.

The title of a new self-help book: "How to flush $30 million in 15 minutes or less" or "Learn to recognize a golden goose".

Without the victim cooperating with the DA a conviction is dam near impossible. I think it’s safe to say that his career as a BB coach at the collegiate level is over.
