Hi there, my son is a junior at South Carolina so I've been rooting for you guys for the past two years (even despite Baby Beamer having been a Hokie).

Good luck this weekend, we'll be cheering the Gamecocks on as a family!

I'd also like to ask for any thoughts on must dos and don'ts if we come down for the Kentucky game. We've visited twice each of the past two years, but haven't actually made it into a game. Trying to show up on Friday afternoon, we've already got a hotel, leaving Sunday around noon.

I've heard that Lula Drake and City State BBQ are good places to eat. My son loves Cantina 76 but when I went there it was meh.

Also, are there any sites other than SeatGeek or Stubhub you'd recommend for me to look for tix?

Thanks and Go Cocks!

Just me, but I think the fees etc on seat geek or stubhub are absurd. You will have no problem getting better seats and less expensive seats outside the stadium the day of.

I have only been to one game which I had trouble getting tickets at a reasonable price. Nebraska vs Colorado in Boulder when Nebraska was #1. It was about 17 years back. I had to wait about 15 minutes into the game to avoid buying $200+ tickets. CU took them down and set Pearl Street ablaze.

Welcome...

I've been UVA once. Back in 2019, my brother, dad, and I rode up to Charlottesville for the Carolina-Virginia basketball game. It was the last sporting event I went to prior to the Covid shutdowns.

I can't speak for either of the places you mentioned. I'd recommend Palmetto Pig for BBQ. Thirsty Fellow, The Kingsman, and D's Wings are all really good local restaurants I like.

Palmetto Pig for the fried chicken. Home Team for the BBQ. Pearlz Oyster bar for the oyster shooters. If that doesn't give you a proper colon cleansing than I don't know what will.
