This spring me and the wife are thinking about taking a getaway by ourselves. I am trying to figure out where we want to go. Her suggestions are as follows.

Colorado skiing/Cabin
Seattle
New York
Sonoma (probably not a good idea now)
Portland

Really we are just looking forward to getting away somewhere on a 3 or 4 night getaway. We are up for anything.

My wife and I love going to Portland for a day or two, then driving out to Cannon Beach (about 1:20 drive). The Stephanie Inn is one of our favorite places to stay. It's a small town with several great restuarants, shops, and a pretty good brewery.

Boston is also one of our favorites. Maine or Cape Cod are like an hour drive and are both great.

Not on your list, but I'd suggest Nashville. Can probably catch a good show or 2 on accident and great restaurants.

Colorado spgs is a pretty neat place surrounded by many things to do...the Broadmoor is quite a place...and don't forget the little "A". Once owned by Gaylord, sold it to the same company that also owns the Oklahoman. The Cheyenne mountain houses a military complex that can take a hit from anything. Like I said, there are hundreds of things to do...from ice skating, golf, fishing, skiing, hiking, climbing, etc etc.

I’d try Portland, but only if you’re white.
