Ashes likely sewn into Jordan's prison mattress in a little baggie.

Wherever you go, the later in the year, the less risk of hurricanes & wet weather in general.

Me, I'd go to Costa Rica.

3 that I am currently looking into:
1. Secrets Silversands - Riviera Maya
2. Royal Hideaway - Riviera Maya
3. Excellence Playa Mujeres - Playa Mujeres

Experiences, opinions?

We are looking at adults only, all inclusive.

Hideaway is walkable to town...

...we stay at Royal Playa del Carmen (AO/AI), b/c it's literally right in the middle of town. Love being able to walk out the door onto 5th Ave and surrounding areas as a change of pace each day rather than feeling like we're trapped on a resort.

I've been to a couple of AI in Puerto Vallarta. I had a great time. The beach there is a little rocky in places, so you might want to check that aspect out before you decide on a place. I've always had a great time when I've been down there.

Although it isn't tropical, but October is the best time of year to visit San Francisco and the Northern California Wine Country. Fall is essentially their summer months and the weather is normally fantastic.

Looking for some vacation ideas leaving out of Louisville for early Fall. I have been looking on Trip Advisor and some other travel forums but was hoping for some legit first hand info. I have been to several all-inclusives in Cancun (Moon Palace) and that may be the route we go again (different destination though).

I also realize this is the Paddock so anything short of G6 to 4 Seasons is going to be for poors. I don't have pictures of my wife, but thanks for asking. Thanks in advance for any serious replies.

Here are the parameters I want to try and meet:
* $3000/$3500 all-in leaving from Louisville

* Wanting to know about any destinations (warm/tropical only) where you can "do it yourself" to save money or stay a little longer 8-10 days. Obviously a safer or relatively safe country/city/cities preferred. Nearly any all inclusive (most countries -MEX, DR) I have seen recently are right about $3000 give or take for 6 nights + airfare.

* Wife and I, both early 40's - like to drink, beach, foods (nothing fancy) just good food, swim/snorkel, experience new cultures, get out and explore scenery/towns/sites in general

Thanks
Go/Fly to Munich in September for the big Oktoberfest, then enjoy the surrounding Alpine region, Neuschwanstein Castle, Berghof, Salzburg (Austrian-German border, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and Berchtesgaden. Get a Eurail Pass and travel around Germany--recommend Nurnberg, Heidelberg, and more! Pay my way and I'll carry your bags and be your guide! I speak German and lived there six great years of my life. Or, go to Malaga, Spain for warmer weather and the beach...Hablo espanol tambien con soltura.

Malaga is way underrated. Ever been to Torremolinos? Wonder if my old friend Bryan still has his bar on the beach...used to hook up with Brit ladies on holiday on the regular at Piper's.

Can't fault your leanings, but my thought was that's a great time of year most anyplace in the northern hemisphere. Be a good time to go to, oh I don't know Oktoberfest in Munich. Save Cancun for mid January. Take that lady you spared posting a pic of to Paris. Backpack through Glacier National Park. I've done all 3, and highly recommend them.

Layout is amazing. Palm Beach is nothing but Resorts all with Casinos, and all connected by a boardwalk that runs between the hotel & the beach where you can duck in and out of all the beach bars, restaurants, casinos. It's an awesome & unique setup. Beaches/water are perfection.

If you prefer solace, Eagle Beach offers that -- but that's not me.

Across the street are endless restaurants, shops, nightlife options. And the main town of Orangestad has plenty to offer as well.

Half the Island is undeveloped desert and a national park...great for a Jeep & exploring. Endless private beaches, caves, wildlife, etc. And as far as the Caribbean goes, it's a foodie paradise.

Plus, Natalie Holloway aside (which had nothing to do with Aruba), it's widely considered the safest island. You can go anywhere and be absolutely fine. My wife ventures out by herself just like she would at home, which she won't do anywhere else.
Agree with all of this. Crime is on the rise all over the Caribbean, but Aruba its almost non existent. It is flat, no mountains, and trade winds can be a nuisance at times. Myself, I would only go to Aruba in the winter, to get the full effect of their climate. Save your dollars, and head to the Fla Gulf coast, Naples area etc...IMO

Royal Playa del Carmen: like BBDK says right in town. AI adults only. Can see Playa if you want to leave the resort.
Valentin Imperial Maya: Playa Maroma area between Cancun and Playa. AI and adults only. More of a place if you just want to chill and not leave resort.

No one has mentioned the Bahamas?

Took a quick trip there late October last year. Tail end of the hurricane season, if you look at frequency curves that time of year the chances are minimal. Me and my girl, $600 each for 5 days/4 nights, non-stop flight from Cincy, all-inclusive. The room was OK, the food was OK to good, the pool was nice, and the beach was beautiful. Perfect time, not very crowded. Thinking about going again this October, you just can't beat it for the price.
