He's been retired from football for the last 2 years because he was so injury plagued, and before that only played in 2 games as a back-up offensive linemen at Utah. I'm not sure why we used a scholarship on him.
So far, our Jucos haven't helped as much as I had hoped. There is still time, though!
I think half the reason they took him was as a foot in the door towards getting more Pacific Islander players, but hopefully he can do something for us after getting re-acclimated to football. I'd have leaned towards trying him on O-line.
Seeing as he's been out for two years, maybe they are just getting letting him get reacclimated, does he have a redshirt year to burn?
No, already used redshirt.
He just isn't that good.
Word on the street is that he will be gone after this season, but we shall see.
When new coach comes in who needs to turn over the roster, has scholarships to give and limited time to fully evaluate, sometimes you take a flyer on a couple of them. If it works out, great. If not, you move on.
he looked like he could be a protoypical nose tackle. Turned out we had better guys there than Frost thought.
