Hello everyone, my name is Nathan LeClair. I recently took over as the CEO of Verbal Commits, a college basketball recruiting site that tracks offers/commits/tranfers.

I have been brainstoming ideas on how to improve the site and I wanted to reach out to y'all and gauge your thoughts. What would you like to see updated, changed, etc? Any suggestions are welcomed. Thank you!

Nathan

Start by adding Immanuel Quickley, Keldon Johnson and David McCormack to your 2018 list. ;)

Doesn't appear to be spam DI so feel free to throw out some ideas here.

Thank you! Have those guys been offered? We only list players on the team charts that hold offers.

Listing "interest only" players on charts is an idea we're considering.

Gotcha. Not officially.

Interested players turn into offered players really fast. People want to know any and everyone their team is checking out.

I love verbal commits. By far your best feature is the player by class grid view. I only wish it worked on the mobile version.

Also it would be awesome to have players linked to their most viewed youtube highlights somehow. The logistics there would be tricky. Great site. I'm a VC lifer.

I love that D2 schools are on there too.

Who knew? Haha.

I've never seen this site until today. Good start though @NathanVC.

Thank you, DukeDenver. I'm glad you like VC! Means a ton.

These are great suggestions that we will try and implement. The mobile is tricky; I too would like to have that improved.

D2 has been an awesome venture. The coaches and fans seem to like it, and it's one of my favorite aspects of the site.

I like it. Thanks.

Also have you noticed how dead the board is at 2:00 a.m. when you have a crying newborn keeping everyone up. Haha. I must've read the Maine game day thread 30 times last night. Haha.
Yeah I've just been operating outside of any kind of night day cycle. I nap involuntarily until an angry child wakes me and get on DI when holding a calm child.

So I can keep up with my alma mater, the university of Alaska Anchorage on that site? I heard they've been tough the last few years.

Yes! We have a page for the Seawolves. I've talked with the assistant there, Cameron Turner, a few times. Awesome guy.

They actually beat Drake a couple weeks back.

Thats good to hear! I haven't kept up with them much since I graduated in 2005, our team wasnt great while I was there, Fairbanks was actually better at the time, but it looks like they are tough now! To bad they had to change the great Alaskan shootout, it use to be fun playing against all the big guns!

So far, I like the site! Crazy to think there was a 6'8" 4 star kid playing in barrow Alaska. They were in my conference in highschool. They were tough, but averaged about 5'9 back then.

Right? A top recruit coming from the most northern city in the United States. Looking forward to the ESPN feature about him in the coming years.

A few months back, someone made a fake Twitter account claiming to be the UAA staff and tried to pass fake info along to us. Real strange situation.

Enjoyed the site. Cool stuff. But, you need to update your rankings. For example, you don't have Collin Sexton ranked. He's 10, 9, and 7 at ESPN, Scout, Rivals, respectively. You have him as a 5-star rating from ESPN but then you have his ranking as "Not Ranked" (NR). That's impossible. ;)

My suggestions:
1- Since it is VC then get more interviews, vids and evals on the players.
2- How about listing players by their interest level in Duke and visa versa
3- what about a section on how the players are developing their games such as strength, ball handing etc...

I think that the crystal ball on 247sports is a great feature. Maybe you could do your site's own version of something like this to give a little more perspective on what insiders feel about the schools these recruits are leaning towards
