Sure Hokie, but we're talking Ws and Ls bottom line man. Hey, you as a "5 points podcast" pioneer pundit should know my good man...OFC

Sure. And I stand by my statement. We had plenty of W’s and plenty of highlights. Not sure what was wrong with what I had said.

My point is highlights and ESPN TOP TEN MOMENTS are just fluff w/o a TRULY SATISFYING END RESULT. We had a great year, but should have been in Final Four. I would gladly have taken Virginia's END RESULT FOR A FEW LESS DUNKS. I "STAND BY WHAT I SAID" TOO... OFC

Carey. He’ll have a season like Jah.
Please don’t label me as a Debbie Downer or anything lol, but I have an unpleasant feeling that Carey will miss some time at some point during the season because of injuries! He’s been battling injuries throughout the last parts of his high school career and he missed the McDonald’s All American Game, played sparingly in the Hoop Summitt, and didn’t see him play in the JBC because of an injury( I can’t exactly remember what the injury was). And just given the fact that in the past few seasons especially, Duke and injuries have been soulmates! TRUST ME! I hope I’m certainly wrong, but I just have that feeling. He’s definitely one of my favorite players in the class and I hope like heck he can stay healthy and definitely have a season like Big Jah!

Carey. Expect him to score around 20 ppg and contend for ACC poy.

I hope he can do that. It would be nice. I've heard from sources he does take play off. If true it could be a conditioning thing or either he just did not have to go all out. He does carry some weight but maybe it's other Zion we've had some big men the last few years OFC

I don’t disagree that I feel like this team could have and should have won the whole thing this year. I am absolutely disappointed that we didn’t get another weekend of Zion. Disappointed in the result.

But on what Earth was this team a disappointment? Or even unsatisfying? Am I interpreting incorrectly?

Some of his injuries have been a result of his conditioning work. The kid really is taking his effort seriously. We’ve heard from everyone who didn’t get Vernon how lazy and fat he is. I can’t wait to see what he’s about to show everyone.

Every season we don’t win it all, you’ll get this post. Pissing in the wind trying to argue it. Just say something like You’re absolutely right, it just wraps it up quicker.

I know, just like with Zion right? That’s good to hear on his work effort, just don’t keep getting injured conditioning!

Adrian, just between you and I, I was really disappointed we didn’t win it all this season. And I had a frigging blast watching this team. I miss them horribly already.

Same. With how gregarious Zion was and how amazing he and RJ played, I was absolutely disappointed I couldn’t see them again.

What I was not was disappointed in how they represented the university and still succeeded on the court. I was not disappointed in that one bit.

Thats all I really meant....They did fall short and they were the best team. As I said I would have traded a few earth shattering plays for a more fitting ending aka #6. I truly think in retrospect had Reddish lived up more to advance billing, we win it. But thats why they play 'em......

You know we can start the annual offseason dunking brigade sound the alarms we're taking no prisoners talk every year, but the ultimate diagnosis is season's end. This team had some excellent accomplishments: 32 wins, the 2nd conf title in 3 years, and beat the natty champs twice. I am proud of those achievements, but just like you noted Hokie, I wanted more because we were the best....

Coach K must not think a lot of these guys are OAD. We've only offered 6 players for next year.

I feel like that might be a little high. I’m just thinking about how we’re gonna have some depth and how he’s a really big guy i think it’s gonna be hard to score 20ppg in 25-30 minutes. But trust me i hope you’re right lol

Anyone else have the gut feeling our ACC/Big 10 matchup will be Duke @ Michigan State? Imo those two teams will be ranked pre season 1 & 2 in some order.

At least one these guys know they are not starting right? :) OFC

NO, 2, no one gets your returning PG spot. I follow recruiting and some Duke ball, but not in the know like you fans there, Question, IYO, how does this #1 class affect your other returnees. Do they get less PT than last year or what?
By ranking, I see 4 starters in the new class and likely 5 in a 7 man rotation.
As with all schools (UK for me) , bench riders are not always happy.

I’m not much on the “X person will transfer talk” but I don’t see how Baker and AOC fit in now. Goldwire should be fine as he likely knew what he signed up for, but the other 2? I see them looking unless they truly beat Moore, Hurt, or Stanley in the rotation.

Like our history (UK), good 4 yr players move after 2 for PT elsewhere.
4 year major contributors (Allen) are rare, unless you hold the OADs to 1 or 2 each year, (or none at all)

And make no mistake, regardless of what is debated here, K won’t go more than 8 deep. That’s as sure as the Sun rising tomo morning.

Sure, we've known that for 20 years? Cal will play more early and pare down near or at Tourney time, not sure which is best.

I don't think Vernon averages quite that high, not for the fact that he's not capable, but for the pure fact we're going to be a WAY better shooting team with this group.

I think you’re right. But man, if he can have a dominant year in the post on top of the way he can shoot...good Lord.

I'm super excited about this group of recruits. I know none will be as good as Zion and probably not as good as RJ, but it's an intriguing mix of players that will complement the returning talent. I think having experienced players will lessen the pressure on this group and hopefully, by season's end they can make a nice post-season run.

I think it will be more like 15 and 7 with some big games. The key will be efficiency.
