Really nice article originally by the SF Chron about her--her success in the WNBA, her family, her time at NU.

Brian Scalabrine and Frank Isola on nba radio were singing her praises yesterday too
Another great game from Veronica as the Valks defeat the Wings in Dallas.
22 points on 8/13, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, and a steal with zero turnovers.

Sure glad she escaped Connecticut. That team makes no sense at the Mohegan Sun. Put them in Boston!
After 23 successful seasons, they sold it to a family for $300 million and will relocate to Houston. They had a $279 million gain.
Veronica is thriving with Golden State and the Valkyries are just one win away from the WNBA Finals. She has to be the greatest women's player ever at NU. Team won a Big Ten title while she was here.
They just took out the defending champ Aces in OT and are in the finals vs the Dream. And they were wearing white and purple! They had Veronica's sister Kayla on the pregame show and Veronica was the first post-game interview. They will have the home court advantage should be champs in only their 2nd year!
I was glad to see there is a panel featuring Ron Burton on the outside wall of Ryan Field. The Burton family is so loyal to NU and has exemplified what the university is all about. Veronica is a great story in the WNBA and is always so gracious in her interviews.
She is also imho one of the prettiest players in wnba
Getting her props on the verge of closing out the championship
The Valkyries win the national championship their second year in the league.
Great news on a great NU player. So glad we are talking about WNBA players from NORTHWESTERN here. And not just a player - a champion.
How long until we have an NBA player who’s a major contributor/star we can get behind? No offense to the WNBA, but that’s not moving the needle for a typical basketball fan
If being a 'typical basketball fan' includes being dismissive of the WNBA, I guess I'm glad I'm not typical.
We've got two guys playing minutes in the NBA right now, they're the best two guys we've had on a team in decades, and it's unlikely NU will allow Collins the budget to buy enough players to be truly competitive in the B1G long enough to actually develop better home grown stars we can experience as NU players (as opposed to this year's crop of mercenaries). Unless the current salary system (or the NU checkbook) changes in our favor, this might just be peak pro ball for NU.
How many NU alums have been starting players on any professional sports team as it wins a national championship?
