In this OU team today. Starts with BV, Arbuckle and even though he showed heart by playing JM. He is lucky he didn’t throw 6 INT.

The D I somewhat give them a pass considering they got absolutely no offensive help. This offense is better than last year but not by much.

Not sure if this team will fare much better over the next 6 weeks but I will still watch win or lose.

I totally agree. “Very disappointed” just about covers it.

“We didn't have the edge and the fire that you need, to me, to go win that game. Starts with me. Got to do a better job. Let my guys down when it comes to that. We've played with a focused passion, intensity all year long. We didn't have it when we needed to there, particularly to start the third quarter. All that being said, it's a one-score game into the fourth quarter. We had our opportunities and just couldn't get it done.”

WTH , this was Texas and the team wasn’t ready.

Complete article below. I have a feeling Gabe and Teddy will have a lot to say about BV comment on their Sunday podcast.

Found this from our old friend 67 over at Landthieves. ( aka Dirtburglars)

“We just aint very good. Simple as that. I tasted the kool aid a little after Michigan but poured the rest out after we struggled to run the ball consistently. Offense not a whole lot better than last yr. More losses coming.
Oh well.”

I am confident that the Sooners will play better against South Carolina especially our quarterback. We should win Saturday but then it gets dicey.

I think it is going to be another low scoring game that hopefully the coaches in decision making do a better job than they did vs. Texas. Not kicking that FG at end of first half still irritates me. Whatever momentum OU had went out the window as the second half was basically all Texas.

If OU loses to South Carolina just getting to 6 wins like last year will be a chore.

Needs to be changes regardless. 25 years since a natty.

Unfortunately I don’t see one coming in the future either. Imagine though being a fan of a team who has never sniffed one. For some teams a 8 win season is a great season but for our fanbase anything less than competing for a NC is a bad season.

The season isnt over yet but it sure is starting to feel like it is as far as playoff hopes with the looming schedule ahead.

Patty’s team scored 35 yesterday, so we can score 35 runs in softball but struggle to score that many in football. lol. Of course, that was against Oklahoma Christian, but still.

I'm 77 years old and have followed the Sooners since 1957. And I never thought I would see the day
that this football program would be in the mess it is today. This is Oklahoma, not some run of the mill team they are playing like. I do hope someone can turn things around
before they Deep Six me.

I just turned 79 and I feel the same way. It’s odd not to expect greatness anymore but that’s the way I’ve become to feel. It sucks. Regardless, BOOMER SOONER!

I will turn 67 next year and feel like my time is running out also on seeing another NC. That makes me a pup compared to two. I never thought this program would become what it is today. Bama your Softball reference cracked me up.

Bright side its not JB bad.

My dad is your age exactly. He's still very formidable and acts like he's in his 40's. He just sold his Harley last year.

Venables handcuffed what is an elite defense against Texas because he's afraid of getting blown out in that game. One week later and we're seeing relentless zone blitzes, stunts on the DL and generally a much more aggressive attack defensively.

Texas is not good but we played vanilla and they took what we gave them. It should have been a bloodbath.

The offense has so many new pieces I really never expected them to be more than serviceable. Outside of Texas, they have been. The OL answered the call yesterday and if Mateer stays healthy and the line progresses, they'll hold up their end of the bargain.

Unfair or not, I put the onus on Brent and his defense to be nearly perfect because they should be. The defensive line is loaded with NFL talent and the back 7 are good to great individually and playing pretty good collectively. There isnt a team in the nation that shouldn't go through to score 24 on this unit's bad day.

Every team left on the schedule is very flawed. There's no excuse to not win 3 of the final 5.

If football played Oklahoma Christian, we'd get to 100 unless we intentionally didn't.
