You're not getting a $600 dollar anywhere near a ps5. There are advantages of pc, but upfront cost isn't one of them. Even building it yourself, you won't come close. Their SSD will be unmatched until next year(5.5GB/s).

Long term cost? Depends on how many games you buy as games on pc are cheaper if you know where to look. Also stuff like open platform and markets for cheaper games etc...

Still, a long-term investment in a gaming PC will outlive the hype of the next-gen consoles. Instead of having to upgrade to the inevitable PS5 Pro in five years to get the very best console hardware, with a PC you can just swap out your graphics card.

Ya, you're not wrong on long term investment, but the ps5 equivalent will be 1k+ next year when the SSD on pcs catch up to the ps5.

Did y'all see where they're charging an extra $10 on their games as well?

I'm becoming more drawn to consoles in the last year, because at 33.. I value playing WITH people more and more, and not being in my office/man-cave playing alone. Not that I can't team up on Steam, but consoles just offer a better "social" aspect that I'm looking for. It's one of the only ways my group of friends can "get together" these days.

I do worry about the exclusives for Xbox and that's the console I'd be getting. Preorders are tomorrow, I might just pull the trigger. Do you need money up front? Or you purchase once it's ready?

Apex Legends mostly. Every now and then I hop on Cities:Skyline.

I really wish Red Dead 2 online was better. Probably the best campaign I've ever played. But the online is a joke. If you could combine Red Dead 2 campaign with Red Dead 1 online you would have a great game. What a shame. Rockstar blew it big time.
Cities skyline completely in the same mold of any of the sim cities?

Anyone get anything good around the holidays? I got the Switch with Mario Kart and Zelda, and grabbed my buddy's XBOX One for $100 so a bunch of us can play NHL21, Battlefield V and more.

Zelda BOTW .. might be one of the best games I've played. I know I'm several years behind, but God Damn, it's SO good. I love open world games like the Far Cry series.. but this just takes it to another level.

Mario Kart.. still whooping my GFs butt in it.. but she's starting to get pretty decent.

NHL21... I'm terrible at it, but we have a full hockey team and that makes it a lot of fun. Still, I have no idea about the rules so my friends have to constantly cover for me.

Battlefield V... eh, The BF games are some of my favorites, but they seem to be veering closer and closer to COD. And I'm AWFUL with a controller, yet still come in the top10 out of 32 somehow.

I've only played a little of Doom Eternal. I enjoyed it; to me, on Nightmare, it's at times comparable to the some of the best games in the series. I've played even less Rogue Squadron than Doom Eternal but I like it too.

I've had it for a while but I've barely played it. I'm saving it for a time soon when I can sink time into it.

Awesome so far, as a kid I was all about fighting and sports games in the SNES era so I'm glad I picked this up to play some stuff I missed out on. I just got to the part where you change worlds so that seems like a good stopping point for the day, look forward to playing it more.

Did you finish it? If so, did you like it? If you've never played the U.S. FF2 or U.S. FF3 or Chrono Trigger...

Honesty the only way I'm able to dive into BOTW is because of the holiday time off and then COVID time off. Im thinking this game needs like 160 to 200 hours. I've played probably 24 hours and I haven't even faced the first boss (been doing a good deal of exploring and grinding, but still. Zelda games have like 10 bosses or more).

I’m playing gta 5 currently, the new island heist is pretty fun.
I played red dead online for the longest time waiting for rockstar to drop a good dlc for it, highly disappointed the online is the way it is.

I play a ton of park and pro am on 2K21. I have a team I run with and also run with Travis on here. Over the last couple of years I've gotten pretty good. The point point where now I'm averaging almost 25 ppg in the Pro Am. A buddy of mine (my team's PG) actually nearly made it to the 2K e-League.

Other than that I also have really gotten into this online franchise I run on Madden 21 with my friends. We pick a number and the number corresponds with an actual team. I ended up with the Chargers. We are 4-5 seasons in now. I traded 2 firsts and Melvin Ingram for CJ Henderson & Josh Allen. I went 12-4 my first season and lost in the Super Bowl to the damn Dolphins. The next year I went 16-0 and won the super bowl. I have Bosa and Josh Allen on the edge so my team is hell for the other offensive line. Its pretty fun to run these online associations if you have some order. We play on All-madden with realistic sliders. Kept the cap the same so we have to manage our money. I screwed up and tried to low ball Justin Herbert (who's a 99 overall now) and now I will have to franchise tag him.
