Like what? MC and Loyola? Now MC and St Rita no question but MC and Loyola? Nope sorry also as I mentioned at the beginning of the segment several rivalries need to be revisited due to all the conference shakeups etx also to be fair I had roughly 5 minutes to determine that top 5 and had zero prep ahead of time FYI
No, not Loyola and MC. I wasn't suggesting that at all. Sure, it has been a hard fought game in recent years, but it lacks the geography element to be an intense high school rivalry worthy of recognition.
I think factors like longevity and geography need to be given almost equal weight.. Certainly, Rice and Marist have the geography thing going on, but so do Batavia and Geneva, plus they have the longevity thing. Same with New Trier and Evanston.
Just like Loyola and MC lack the geography element, Rice and Marist lack the longevity element.
It’s not the longevity that should be the primary metric in my mind, but the INTENSITY!!
While I am happy Neuqua/Waubonsie made the finals list - I am sad they didn’t make either top 5.
I mean come on - when’s the last time Edgy came to a WV game - the 2016 WV/GBN game??I guess we are just second fiddle these days with a tiny little conference no-one wants to talk about (except me & NapervilleBuck!)

I almost came out this Friday but TV had other ideas so
FYI 1975 was 43 years ago.....and that's a pretty long time ago...not as long as others but...
In the 80’s, there was no bigger rival to Brother Rice then St. Rita. Marist was never in the picture. Every sport at Rice hated Rita. What Happened to that Rivalry????
Just my opinion from Beverly which has a good cross section of Southside CCL alumni no one likes Brother Rice. They are the Eddie Haskell's of High School football. Add MC DSL Marist to the list.Trust me, Rita guys still hate Rice.
that like saying MC kids are a bunch of bevs ratsJust my opinion from Beverly which has a good cross section of Southside CCL alumni no one likes Brother Rice. The are the Eddie Haskell's of High School football. Add MC DSL Marist to the list.
