I think if that were true he would stay. Sounds more like burnout and respectfully so with what the program has gone through but having never been an AD before, it is also likely he wasn’t prepared for it either. You have sports going on 24/7 365 days a year.

Sounds like he was done plus clearly the Board was done with him. Him staying wouldn’t have been good. The Board, New President and AD need to get on the same page.
