Sounds like he is managing expectations in regards to Brohm. Seems obvious he is moving past him to other candidates. The process needs to be quick.

You can't pull too much from that interview. It's clear that he absolutely wants Jeff Brohm, but he realizes the feeling must be mutual.

I'll be disappointed in Jeff if he doesn't come home to Louisville.

Not sure what you’re expecting Tyra to say but he’s not going to throw fuel on the Jeff Brohm to UofL fire until they are ready to announce.

Doesn't seem to be in a hurry .

I will say this about Tom Jurich.....those coaches schedule wouldn't mean squat to him. You want the job then you make damn time to interview. He wouldn't wait for you and this wouldn't drag on. Jurich was a bulldog and would get his target quickly and easily.

As I’ve stated many times there was no bigger Tom Jurich fan than myself. But, as time goes on we’ve got to unearth quite a few warts on TJ beginning with the ridiculous Petrino buyout. So let’s move on from Jurich, he’s one of the reasons we’re in this spot! Let this play out.

AD Tyra does not need to be in a big hurry. I believe he has a 7 to 10 day window to get this done. The early signing period starts on Dec. 18th or 19th and I stand to be corrected on that. If you give a kid approximately 10 days to make up their minds then you’ve done your job. I’m not sure what you folks are thinking is “too long”. We need to remember that we can save a million bucks in this deal by not being in too big of a hurry.

I remember Jurich saying he always had a list of 3 replacement coaches for every sport. This kept him ahead of the game when situations like this came up. Tyra might want to do the same thing for future situations.

In the larger scheme of things that million is like piss from a field mouse! Lol fifty big ones divided by 8 is 6.25. Big question will be the assistant’s pool.

At least three have contacted us already. Tyra has a list of about five or six including a minority [Babers I am guessing].

Brohm may be the hometown favorite, but is he the most qualified? Thats why you interview several and pick the best one. But if Brohm is interested, then Tyra would have to offer him since the thats who most of the fanbase wants.

I just want someone who will make us competitive again.

I'd say no news is good news at this point. Brohm's buyout goes down $1MM on Dec 5, so any "announcement" before then isn't going to be Brohm.

That dollar amount is just crazy if true. Over $6MM for Brohm. Someone else mentioned this, but no way would the fan base be in favor of paying a 0.500 coach from Purdue over $6MM per year unless it was a legacy guy like Jeff Brohm.

I am all in on Brohm UNLESS he wants over 6 million a year. He's not worth that.

Howie just said that the interview was on Saturday and other things had happened (yesterday) since that interview.

Howie just said again that nothing has happened to change his opinion that Jeff will be the next coach here.

That means Howie joins at least one from the other site in saying that everything they hear points to Jeff.

Couple that with a number of others in the local media saying the same thing.

What those that don’t live here don’t understand is how small Louisville really is when it comes to sharing information. Everyone in the media knows Jeff or someone in the Brohm Family. If Jeff wasn’t coming, somebody in the family would have already said something.

I bet they split the million with purdoo so that both programs can move forward as quickly as possible.

I think that somebody in the family has said something - and it’s that Jeff is coming home.

I've heard that they're matching up the numbers now. I expect a deal done in a few days.
